I feel like the NFL, NBA, & MLB would try to lowkey sabatoge that. Because they would be competing with Soccer for same talent pool.

They would. I still stand by that the NFL and NBA haven't had a rival league since the 70s and 80s is because they have tried to stop any rival starting up or making side deals with smaller leagues.

Can't remember the podcast but like 7 or 8 years ago a dude mentioned this about the NBA trying to cut more deals with the euroleague.

I mean we all know the NCAA got a wink wink nod nod deal with the major american leagues.

I'm not sure if I buy that. The specialty players in football are only rivaled by Olympic sprinters and the lineman bench in the 500/600 lbs.

It is compared to other major sports. They don't compete with other foreign prospects for jobs, 95 percent is roughly home grown talent. It's normal for 7th rounders and undrafted players to make it on the 53 man roster or PS every year.

I've personally grown up and around a handful of cats that have cashed an NFL check.

There are definitely some quarterbacks with 100 million dollar contracts.

We unfortunately have one ourselves (fukk joe flacco)

I think that graph is taking into account that the NFL money is not guaranteed and is fake money.

Remember when Mcnabb in washington and vick in philly signed those huge deals. Then when folks looked at the contracts under a microspcope they noticed they were bull shyt contracts not even worth a 20% of the total bull shyt value the team and media originally said they were worth.

2% of the human population is 6'3 and up. Minus women, children, and those that are too old or physically sick and you barely have 1% and then come other factors like athleticism and so on so you really need to hit the genetic jackpot compared to other sports.

Last year it was this (still the same but.. yeah) - Super Cup winner would get like 4m, Runner up around 3m

  • Basic allocation for each club in group stage: €12.7m.
  • Performance bonus per group win: €1.5m
  • Performance bonus per group draw: €500,000 per draw.
  • Non-distributed amounts (€500,000 per draw) will be pooled and redistributed among the clubs playing in the group stage in amounts proportionate to their number of wins.
  • Round of 16 appearance: €6m
  • Quarter-final appearance: €6.5m
  • Semi-finalist appearance €7.5m
  • The UEFA Champions League winners can expect to receive €15.5m and the runners-up €11m, inclusive of their share of ticket revenue from the final (no additional amount will be paid to the finalists in relation to ticketing as was customary in the past).

Why the hate, he brought yall a ring

Now fukk ray lewis he out here c00ning

He had a good run during the playoffs but he's been mad mediocre since plus he doesn't even work with our wrs during the off season like day Peyton Manning or Brady.

And say what you want about Ray Lewis but the Ravens haven't been the same since he left. He had a great mind for the game and put in a lot work in the film room which is something else flacco doesn't do either.

Football players put in a lot of work to get to a league where the average career is no more than 5 years. I think that is where it is messed up for them. If you include the college gatekeepers there is a couple of billions made off their labor just for the chance to get to the next level while colleges act as a clearinghouse for the NFL. In England, players as young as 17 can sign professional contracts. Football is obviously more dangerous and teenagers are unlikely going to be able to handle playing professional football but too much of their life is spent making money for other people. Hell Real reportedly paid Odegaard 80K euros a week when he was 16. He could flop but at the very least made money off his labor. Guaranteed contracts are the best though, there are dudes that fall out with the manager/coach and are banished to reserves but still pick up their check every week.

True there aren't a lot of tall people in the world but in the same token there are even less people that can run 100 meters in less than 11 seconds.

Just like you need genetics to be tall you need genetics to have that sort of speed.

And just to add on you need to be at least 6'3 to be a QB or lineman these days.

That would make sense. Redskins are notorious for that. Thinking Albert haynesworth too

Real paid each player 1.5million euros bonus for retaining the CL. Both them and Barca get perks such as free Audis of their choice too.
