Playstation 5 set to use Cartidges to eliminate hard drive use and loading

UPDATE : apparently these carts are ssd drives for quick hard drive swaps

I mean it's possible.

Non-volatile storage has come a long way since the SNES days. They wouldn't need a dedicated board to store the game like they did back then. They could just use cheap flash memory. Would still be patchable as well.

I'm sure they could do it for cheap, and eliminate all the downsides of optical storage.

I'm interested.
