Please help me understand why socialism is a bad thing.

Socialism does not necessarily mean State ownership of the means of production
The problem is that Socialism ideology has many offshoots so...what you may view as your own personal flavor of socialism may not be the same as what someone else views socialism. Also socialism can be implemented partially such as we have in our mixed economy.
In a pure socialist society, all industries would be owned by the government thus indirectly means of production
My guess is you're assuming i'm mixing this with communism but communism is more a political movement while socialism is more descriptive of an economy.

between medicaid and medicare, we have over 100 million on government provided health insurance.
Doesnt include the subsidies for obamacare.
There's almost 50 million on food stamps.
There's WIC, SNAP, subsidized day care, disability, social security etc.
There is plenty of socialism in America. The hell you guys want?

Do you really believe that black people would be equal to whites in a socialist economy? Im pretty racists Czars would relegate all blacks from birth to be a low level proletariat..We know that capitalism from the outset of the country was built off the slave economy. However, at least the system we have in place today while not perfect, allows for a person to be compensated for there skillset depending on the local market..An independent plumber or mechanic in today's America regardless of race can make a 6 figure salary if they hustle hard enough..Tell me how this can be replicated in a socialist economy

Umm, it has alot to do with many types of socialism..You nut heads never get specific on what type of socialist economy that you advocate for. And none of your assessments account for the racism embedded in this country
