You quoted me talking about some shyt that had nothing to do with the conversation. Unless you have something to add in the context of that conversation, be gone.

Oh, you're offended. Got it.
You made a false statement. That's all...I quoted the statement.

My statement is facts.

Hood apartments cost around $1300 where I'm from. That was the topic, you came in here and posted something that literally proved my point, then wanna argue cause your lack of comprehension had you believing that I said you cant find an apartment for that price at all.

Your teachers failed.

Here's an honest question. If the hood spots is 1400 right... And someone can't afford to live anywhere else......

Then why isn't that person questioning why they can't live any better than the hood people? Do you have more income? So where's the disconnect that they are making way less but live in the same building? They can't afford 200-300 extra a month? You not making 2400-3000-5000 more dollars A YEAR, than a person regulated to this terrible ass neighborhood?

We got people in here (not you cause I don't know) talking bout the landlord's money and expenses and budget... But they themselves don't have any of these things in order in their own lives.. They CANNOT pay the rent cause they lost their jobs suddenly... Couldn't that happen at any time? Shouldn't they have some savings? What are they doing renting an apt when they should be renting a room? You going out to eat or cooking at your broke ass apt? Cause I'm sure you could save $200-300 a month if you cut back on some shyt you don't NEED.

But people don't want to think about themselves.. It's gotta be someone else's fault. The bank can't afford these places if people don't pay their rent... See the housing crash... The landlord can't afford these places if people don't pay... Why he supposed to save if you can't? And you can't pay if you don't save?

What makes it everyone's problem, lack of planning, lack of smarts, but not the lowest on the pole?

Honestly some people can afford to live better. Riverside is a 20 minute drive from san Bernardino and is actually decent in some parts but the rent in those areas is between $1600-$2000 depending on how close u are to the college.

Cost of living in California definitely needs to be addressed. The problem is landlords keep slowly raising the rent every year until it gets harder for people to survive.

My first apartment in SB cost $700 a month when I was 18, the same apartments go for $1300 now, and this is in little Africa, which is literally the worst part of SB and arguably one of the most dangerous places in cali.

Section 8 makes these places alot more affordable if you qualify, but if you dont, then it's a constant struggle if you not making real money.

I really dont have the answers to your questions tho.

I guess the point I keep going back to..........

At what point do you start blaming yourself? You can't afford to pay rent after two goddamn weeks of being off and somehow it's everybody's fault but yours.... Amazing
People are irresponsible by nature, add that to the fact that everything out here cost more in general. Plus the area I'm at doesn't really have tons of opportunities to make money which is why Amazon can open 10 warehouses in this city and have people competing for low wage work because that's pretty much it as far as unskilled labor.

I'm not blaming the landlord in question, I was just highlighting the ridiculous cost of living out here for the people who couldn't fathom hood spots going for more than $1000.

While I do think everyone should be considerate of what other people are going through and have enough compassion to give people a break during these strange times, I also feel like the average American is negligent when it comes to money. Me and my wife aren't 6cert 6foot 6figure coli ballers, but we still manage to keep a savings account with atleast 10k saved up at all times for emergencies. I dont understand how the vast majority of Americans dont try to save for a rainy day.

I agree.. I said from the very start, go to the people and see what you can work out. nikkas ran in here on some "Yea, just don't pay your rent.. fukk them for not letting you have 3 months free.. I KNOW THEY GOT THE MONEY"

Craziness.. Anyways I'm in the same boat in the DMV area... I was 18 and got a income controlled apt with my boy for $1200 a month... that same exact spot is 1600 now... Breh this is the low income housing... You make over 50k as a household and you're not even allowed to live there... So apts start around 1800-2000 in Northern VA.

Choice is... move to DC in the slums... Move to MD in the sticks... Move to VA further into the sticks... Or barely make it in the nice part of VA, 20 mins from DC, 20 mins from MD. They know you wanna live there and the govt knows you wanna live there. I'm sure EVERYTHING is getting raised year by year. The maintenance man gonna charge more, receptionist, plumber....

Are there some slum lords out there doing the most... Of course. But some people just trying to make some money on the side and get that same money we all trying to get.

rep for being a responsible landlord, the person in the OP is a fool for using a mortgaged property that they don’t own outright as their sole income :comeon: people watched too much Property Brothers and think they can get rich quick overextending themselves flipping houses and doing air bnb on rented places... the air bnb pseudo landlords are all over social media crying too :sadbron:about how they bout to owe $50k in rent this month on multiple rented properties because they have no bookings for six months :heh:I don’t feel bad for these idiots at all, they can’t even figure something out with their out of work tenants because they have no savings, no income, over extended on properties they don’t own and expect the tenants to be left holding the bag, fukk outta here :camby: have they considered delivering for amazon or driving Lyft :jbhmm: or getting a real job if being a landlord is too difficult:hubie:

right, now it all makes sense because I hear about bad landlords all the time and I knew the mortgage thing was "a quick out" but damn ... does everyone not actually own own the property they rent out :russ:
I'm trying to get it to where all the places I rent out are free of rent in December

In Rochester, NY ... I pay around 1200$ a year for insurance property tax and school is around 1700$ = 2900$ :picard:
renting a 4 bedroom at 450 gets you 21k a year. Give or take say 4k ... thats 18k profit and I dont sweat shyt ... people are wild irresponsible and stupid as fukk
Not only do you help a family and give them wiggle room to provide for kids, parents etc... you are getting paid regardless... I dont see why landlords sweat... oh wait actually I do :troll: they are fukking frauds :childplease:
