I didn’t even make that post, I just quoted it. But the books and verses start at Micah 2:1 and Isaiah 5:8. Rationalize who it talks about with your carnal mind and make excuses all you want, but I’m not who or what you’re going to have to explain your logic to.
To address your third point, YAH very much does have a problem with rich people and makes it very clear in many instances. I’ll start with Mark 10:17-25 which splits no hairs about the rich.
Mark 10:23-25
23Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!” 24This amazed them. But Jesus said again, “Dear children, it is very hard to enter the Kingdom of God. 25In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”
James 1:11
For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
James 5:1
Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.
Proverbs 28:22
A stingy man hastens after wealth and does not know that poverty will come upon him.
Psalm 62:10
Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.
Here are some more to dispel the lie that HE doesn’t have a problem with the rich.
Matthew 6:19-24, Matthew 6:31-34, Luke 1:50-55, James 5:1-6, Luke 16:19-31, Hebrews 13:5, 1 Timothy 6:6-10, 1 Timothy 6:17-19, Mark 12:41-44, Proverbs 19:17, Luke 6:24-26, Proverbs 23:4-5, Ecclesiastes 5:10, and I can do this al day.
King David distributed his wealth accordingly so as to leave no one in need of anything like in Luke 3:11 which says
Luke 3:11
And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
He took care of his people as he should have with those riches which is a different kind of “rich” that surpasses material wealth. Job provided for those he could as well, apples to oranges with your worldly version of rich.
HE loves the righteous rich which are pretty much non-existent. If you have a home you live in and another you rent for more than it costs you monthly in expenses then it’s crooked riches you’re receiving or what’s known as extortion. You have to let people eat from your plate if you’re up. I know it’s hard to understand with a worldly mind, but does that explain it well enough for you?
Many of these scriptures do not apply to the landlord in the OP because they are seemingly not a gouging slumlord.
Also, Romans 13:8 says Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. If those tenants elect not to pay rent, the most certainly would owe back rent...and depending how the courts would handle this after the eviction halt is lifted, late fees & court fees too.
Proverbs 24:27 says Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house. Basically, we all, myself included, need to be better prepared for a rainy day. After this season passes, we should be more diligent about having at least three months savings. I get that it is hard, but the battle is not with independent landlords. Coming together to close the wealth gap by way of increased wages & 1% taxes is a much better, long term solve for this.
