I choose to blame Big Gates for bein horrible musical influence,Plies start falling off when he became every thing he hated which was "a rap nikka"

Soon as he let people get in his head that he couldn't rap,and he started trying to prove them wrong by actually trying to have a flow and staying on beat,i saw the decline....Not to mention letting the success get to em and caving in to being more commercial....its not a story we haven't seen many times before in hiphop

But this thread aint fair to Plies fans to pretend like the Plies we stopped fukkin with as heavy was the same person who released 36 Ounces,100% Real nikka,Real Testament,Definition of Real.

It was wack how fans jumped ship with the quickness after the 40 gloc shyt,but at that point you was already taking heat for being a Plies fan,but folks stuck around for the music...They stuck around through him being known as the wackest rapper in the game by ignorant masses,then he was known as being a "for the ladies" rapper by the masses....They wasn't stickin around after that 40 gloc "exposal" once the quality of the music declined like it did,at that point it was pretty much over.

I ain't gonna lie plies was the first rapper that I ever called my favorite rapper. I was fukking with him heavy but I did get a lot of slack from people but I also put a lot if ppl on to his music. I think the decline in his music is what did him in. He Shoulda Stayed the way he was.

The problem with Plies is he just stopped dropping bangers. Plain and simple. He went flat after the third album. He peaked in 08 with definition of real. He had a good 2-3 year run on the national stage

dam near everything drake does, both on and off wax is the epitome of corny.

the thing is, we already know drake is corny. add to the fact that they play his chit on the airwaves until people are forced to accept him, and there you have it.

plies cant get that pass by the public, and hes not gonna get 24/7 airplay either. no airplay at all at this point.

i stopped checkin for plies after i heard the 3rd album.

then the songs i heard following that and lil joints from the 4th album. i was done.

and i remember they used to play that becky bullchit on southern radio all day. that and gucci mane's "wasted" with plies(which was cool). they were out at the same time. i dont recall him getting much airplay after that tho.
