So Webbie gets the promotion budget as Wale' and Meek Mill? Anybody agrees with this?

I think I agree with both if I get the argument....I agree with u and think Boosie can sell by crosssover when he get out but you'd have to sell his situation and street cred to peak the interest of white folks and mainstream fans more than his music and that would be kinda wack but its been done.....u couldn't sell him to that same audience by just promoting him like you'd promote a MMG or Wale with a big music budget, gettin him interviews and shyt, payola etc.....so when Tron says u can't market them in the same capacity I do agree with that....don't get me wrong webbie, boosie, plies all had crazy singles but the entire package woulda had more "mainstream listeners" with the :wtf::mindblown: not knowin what the fuks goin on face.

And another thing I forgot he wuz on Atlantic too,u heard in the interview he had to fight with the label about Sumbody Loves You which everybody wuz bumpin when it came out,yet they argue about "single potential"....I think its safe to Atlantic is a let's sell as many albums and ringtones to the ladies as we can kinda company.....I remember what they did to Twista who I wuz excited for when he got his chance, then Fab,then Plies....put out a smash for the ladies and its a rap, that's all they want from u is soft shyt the rest of your career...they don't care if u last or not,or either or genuinly tryin they hardest and just don't have a clue as to what turns rap fans off of rappers.....at least Lupe did fight back supposedly, the rest didn't and look at em now...well Fab actually came out alright after he got traded for Musiq Soulchild,so embarrasing:snoop: and went to defjam....but he's seen as a rapper "for the ladies" and I don't thinklll hell every break from that, its too late

Goood one.

I didnt even fukk with Plies when he came out....nicca had hooks for you tho...

When that Foxx/Plies video NEVER became commercially released..I knew it was a problem.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying... but i think they did put the video out... even ran its course on 106th...

never seen it on Mtv, or heard it on the radio compared to the other songs in rotation.

When I say commercial, I mean the machine push.

Yeah it definitely didn't get the "Shawty", "Hypnotized" or "Bust It Baby Pt.#2 " push at all... & I'm pretty sure pissing Jamie Foxx off didn't help...

shyt... I don't think he ever charted in the Top 40 again after that 40 Glocc incident... :wow:

No, it's not....

Plies purported himself like he really lived his brothers life....when in reality the nikka played college football, and went to college for nursing.

there is no need for any in depth analysis to the dynamics of ignorant rap and it's how it's received by listeners.... this shyt isn't dumbing down anyone, nobody ever got stupid from listening to Plies.. just like listening to Beethoven wont make a dumb nikka smart.

it's as simple as that.

For what reason would Webbie get the same budget as Wale or Meek Mill?

think about this before you try to even make any illogical attempt at justifying it.

:laff: ya ok. ask a little black kid who his role model is. he will name lil wayne. if you really see nothing wrong with that then :wtf: you really think a lil kid listeining to this garbage, and holding these guys up as role models will not retard their growth as a person? :bieberspit:

Historically, America has always feared intelligent Black men. Even going back to the early 19th century with Nat Turner. Although he is portrayed in history books as a mindless brute runnin’ around slaughtering slave owners, Turner was intelligent. Also, even though the Black Panthers of the late 1960’s were known for bustin’ their guns, it must be remembered that the party was founded on a college campus and their main threat to the power structure was their political education classes. Today, since Hip Hop is dominated by Black male voices, the paranoia is still there.

Although some rappers are actually intellectually challenged in real life, many are just playing dumb. One of the best examples is one of the hottest rappers in the game, right now ,2Chainz. Although, he is rumored to be academically gifted and, according to his website, even down with the Hip Hop Congress’ “Respect My Vote” campaign, the message that he sends our children does not reflect any of that. His latest songs, “Riot” and “Rich Man’s World” could have easily been the political anthems of the Occupy Wall Street/Trayvon Martin era but instead he chose to continue with the same misogynistic tales of murder and mayhem.

Plies then drop about about 4 good ass mix tapes in the past 4 years he dropped about 6 or 7 in total in that time span . But IMO plies can still make a come back but he need to go back to the old plies. Remember when he always was rapping about how real he was?? He gotta go back to the "REALiST" plies and step away from the dumb shyt. Any real pliers fan a tell you that he's one of the most slept on rappers cause he actually DROPS knowledgeable music. I think his true down fall was not addressing certain things in his career. He dissed 40 glocc and Jamie fox on Letter to the Industry and answer a fee questions about it here and there, but he shoulda addressed it 100%

But if u look at plies twitter and seen his crib he good money wise, still doing hella shows and still getting 60,000 for a show. But now the real question is, is his career over??? Naw it ain't. He just been having trouble making a big hit. If he can make another hit or get buzzing again and then explain why he step back from the main stream he should be good and able to pick up where he left off. His brother kinda messed his career up tho. When he got out and started having a say and control over plies music that'd when plies started dropping some of the BS y'all hear now

Dog, i'm not reading any of this shyt..

the fact that you even tried to use the role model=rapper angle is all i needed to read to know nothing you said was worth looking at.

what father raises their son to look up to entertainers as role models?

this argument is as lame as the "hip hop only has 4 father figures" thread from earlier this week.

fukk you need parents for if rappers and athletes are supposed to raise you?
