I wouldn't say that's the SOLE reason but you can't talk THAT ignorant and be caught sounding like a Regional Mgr. at Wal-Wart. Once that happened people weren't willing to give him a pass for mediocre music and he was trying to salvage that goon persona and overcompensating. The jig was up. Ross kept his career alive by sheer force of will and delusion. Anyone else would be surviving on MixTapes and appearances on a local rappers album. Career over basically.

Plies' only mistake was not staying in character like Officer Ricky does. Ricky never breaks character. He rides his fake shyt all the way out, he never acts as if he went to college and had a legit gig. He acts as if he sold drugs since 11 and was a don by 17. Plies' whole fanbase was hood bytches and hood nikkas, that demographic despises educated nikkas.
