My question is how does one get started. I've mostly been looking at options but futures seems like a different beast altogether.

Leverage over here is hard mode and certainly not something anyone should start on even if coming from options. Ideally, you’d be trading spot (regular buy and sells, BTC only) after learning support and resistance. If you don’t learn how to trade support and resistance on spot you will end up shorting the bottom and longing the top on futures.
