What? It's basically treason. Literally known as the rebel flag. The south lost long long ago. It doesn't signify what America is today. And a person in her position definitely don't need to have such political ideas.
No it isn't anything close to treason.
The US is not at war with the confederacy it won.
Claiming it is treason is like claiming anyone who raises a german flag, filipino flag, spanish flag, japanese flag, or etc is guilty of treason and that is an absurd contention on its face.
Its the raising of a former country's flag that lost, that was then unofficially embraced by the US military (army especially).
The south doesn't signify what America is today?
Are you under 20?
the US flag is a symbol of death violence, and oppression the world over to this fukking day.
If you want to talk about symbolism, I can't think of a worse flag to wave than the US flag.
So save me the moral handwringing over the fukking confederate flag, while talking up the US government and talking about fukking treason. fukk the uSa.
as for having ideals, US consitition protects this woman's ability to wave this flag and since it isn't specifically a racist symbol directly, she has a case.
I would suggest you remember the old saying about the law applying to the worst of us, if it doesn't, it will never apply to the best of us.
You take short cuts to get rid of people who "thing wrong" and you can bet your ass it was just a ploy to give power to the very power structure you need to be afraid of.
