I wonder if Lashley would've eventually been the one had things not gone the way they did with Kristal at the time.

Him being the centerpiece of "the battle of the billionaires" with Steve Austin reffing was a big deal.
Absolutely, especially when Cena got hurt

All i'm getting is "well there was other bland champs with no charisma why can't we get a black one?"

why would you want a bland no charisma black champ? Instead of a Booker T who could do comedy, who could do serious, who could do promos, who could put on good matches with anyone, who was over with fans.

Would it be fine with Jay Lethal didn't have charisma?

You are totally missing the point they gave all these white dudes a try they didnt even give shelton a try when he had unlimited potential.

lol at acting like it need some intricate explanation he was young had a good look one of the best hands on the roster and we know they needed new stars at that time. Only difference is wwe has a :mjpls: policy and he had a ceiling of the ic title if they decided to shove him down our throat like cena orton batista edge etc etc that got elevation in that era he could have been champ.

So still no answer, just another "other people got it but he's black" response. Got it. Thanks.

Based on WHAT? What is this unlimited potential you saw of him based on? He was over, right? Why didn't he stay over? What was so obviously stand out about him, in that era, where crowd support was significantly stronger behind guys that it is now, that it didn't remain?

Let's compare two similar guys. Kofi and Shelton were in very similar positions, were fairly bland and cookie cutter faces but solid in ring. Both were jerked around and were booked poorly similarly but you know what happened? Kofi never stopped getting responses. Why did Shelton? With all this obvious unlimited potential that apparently just resonated with so many of you, why is the ONLY response :mjpls:?

I'm being dead ass serious when I ask. I didn't see it. I'm trying to understand what you all saw. Because nothingFrom his WGTT to Gold standard runs where he had the IC title and if I recall (I'm not fact checking) ECW title, nothing about him stood out. I flat out don't remember him. He had tv time, he had matches, the man never TRULY connected to me. He got responses bwherr anyone in that same spot would've gotten support. Nothing sustainable from what am I missing. What am I missing?

So I guess being half black and being WHC doesn't count? *cough* The Rock, Mark Henry, Booker T *cough*

because they don't exist....hell go on youtube and search for Shelton Benjamin promo...look at what you find.

like shelton benjamin, puts on great matches...BUT there's a reason why EVERY company he went to, he ended up back in a tag team.

Never said he had any great promos my point is they never tried to develop him or give him a real chance but I see both of you keep drinking that wwe coolaid they never take any risk or try anything interesting just reminds me why I only watch mania the rumble and thats about it unless something really special happens these days.
