How are individual and property rights going to protect the Yangzhee River? In Libertarian world, a compny could theoretically buy the whole thing amd pollute it.

How do those rights protect the air from pollution?

That is what you should asked in the first place instead of saying making absurd assertions that china represents libertarianism

But yeah a company could buy property and pollute it as long as the pollution stays on their property, if the pollution goes to public property or to private property than an individual or the government can sue or fine them for damages

So you are going to ignore what I actually said,

Kind of a silly complaint considering how you ignored REALITY in your little rant.

And bad regulation or regulation that only exists on paper is not actual regulation.

And China DOES need more govt oversight... this is why the president there is on a huge anti-corruption sting.

You can cry and whine about govt all you want, but the fact of the matter is the most stable, income-equitable, economically propserous countries- the Scandinavians- have big taxes and big govt. Until you can actually point to a real place where your libertarian dreams actually make good on your libertarian promises, do us all a favor and shut the fukk up

Unless we are closing our borders and abandoning imperialism, I dont see how this comparison is made with a straight face...

the last picture isnt pollution. we get that green algae here, its seasonal and smells like boiled eggs.

but everything else is accurate. its pretty dirty outchea I cant even front. took me about a year to get used to it, and even now I get taken back every once in awhile. I just try not to think about it, esp when im eating.

hospitals are also foul. actually almost everything is foul. you just get used to it after awhile.

Again u dont have the room to look down on anyone else's analysis techniques or way of thinking.

Their overall philosophy of big govt is a far bigger contributor than their immigration or foreign policy with regard to their economic clout and stability.

And in any fukking case, 2 of the 3 legit Scandinavian countries have way higher immigration rates than we do (by factors of 2-3x actually). But why o why would you actually know what you are talking about?

Anywho, their model of competitive capitalism, with a large public sector is superior to ours, but isnt an argument against freer markets(or capitalism) but evidence that freer markets work.

I'm not even sure what you are trying to say... I never said "we need a 'free market'", "we need no govt.", "regulations are bad" etc.
All I said is China isn't libertarian... and I stand by that.

Heres what Im saying

China's environmental boondoggle is a result of the kind of weak/non-existent/"self" regulation you pine for. Id much rather have the "tyranny" of the EPA than the libertarian environmental "freedom" of the third/developing world.

Also dont see how a country with a larger public sector than ours can have freer markets... IIRC something like 1/2 the economic activity of Scandinavian countries is in the public sector.... this seems to be contradictory coming from a guy who once proposed police depts operating as LLCs. If a large public sector can work and create "freer markets" there, why not here? :yadontsay:

I'm for it, if its done efficiently... or as efficiently as possible. Singapore being IMO the best example of efficient state provision.
So then we agree that the problem is not the size of govt but the quality of govt... which can be devastating regardless of the size of the govt then?

Will u give up this silly "shrink govt at all costs" meme?
