Posters are saying today is way better than the 90s. Is that true?

Kids today would hate living in the 90s. No smartphones, youtube, internet, 100s of tv channels, twitch streams, memes, social media. All the stuff old people hate is what they love about today.

Advancements in technology and lower crime rates are better today like another breh said.

Everything else though 90s >>>

That late 80s era though the 90s until about 2002 era was were some good times for me.

Social media, the internet becoming mainstream, and advent of smartphones made everything more convenient but a lot other younger generations lost the swagger and social skills people of the older generations had.
Worry about yourself Breh, that’s y’all problem

The only thing that’s better now is the tech and how compact it is. Smaller/faster chips have been the game changer.

And to a degree medical science has gotten better but nothing being cured is a major knock. The medical community is complacent with you being “maintained” instead of informed and healed — and that’s not good.

But with all of this tech and the accessibility of info that’s readily available to all of us, the rate and proficiency of learning should be off the charts and it’s not. So we’re not better off.

The things that have revolutionized the world are inventions from the fúcking 50s/60s — like jet powered engines and high speed rail. There’s nothing “new” being brought to the table.

This isn’t like Star Trek where poverty and cancer have been eradicated.

Breh get your sensitive azz off my post.

I made a general statement and I stand by it.

The 80s babies like me that grew up in mostly in the 90s had our issues too.

But how? If you have money, you would have even more if shyt didn’t cost so much; which would mean more money to invest which in turn creates more money. I don’t HAVE to look at any account I spend from when it’s time to spend, so the money is there, but even more money SHOULD be there.

Not one wealthy person on earth thinks the way you’re thinking. Wealthy people get upset over a missing penny of interest and get pissed about taxes going up .00001%
Nah if you got money in 2023 you get to enjoy modern luxuries with worries about inflation, rent, rising grocery costs etc

I get what you’re saying but you can never have too much money, so anybody with real wealth is upset right now too. Nobody wants to pay more for anything

The other thing about back then, outside of really high pressure careers like advertising or finance, more people were fully unplugged at the end of the workday. Now people expect you to have your email and slack on your phone and be responsive til 7/8/9pm at night. Like no, stfu. I appreciate when this level of connectivity wasn’t possible

If you was broke in the 90s you were really fukked

The average broke nikka got high speed internet a smart phone and a part time job

I think the average person really underestimates the level of convince we have today.
This. Yeah it was a simpler time, but that's exactly what it was because options were limited.

Today there are so many options, even if you're broke.
