Posters are saying today is way better than the 90s. Is that true?

If you're good looking and have money there's no way you can say the 90's trumps 2023

Having to carry a laptop, walkman, and floppy disks
:mjlol:

Vs smart phones

Walking in with a bunch of resumes and a suit and tie for a job
:mjlol:
We got zoom calls now

If you was broke in the 90s you were really fukked

The average broke nikka got high speed internet a smart phone and a part time job

I think the average person really underestimates the level of convince we have today.

bro, not everyone needs the level of connectivity we have. i remember life vividly from 95-05 - no one needed a yellowpages or payphone past 02 :heh:

it's amazing how seamlessly we functioned without being able to google everything at any second, you needed to know where a coffee shop was? stop and ask someone...gas station? it aint hard to find, hit a main road, you'll come across several.

yes, you'd have problems taking all this away now, but if we never evolved past where teach was in 05-06, we'd be perfectly fine.

and for the thread, assessing life being better in the 90's goes way beyond tech. politics, the economy, society, etc are at play in that question and we were in a better place across all those categories + had enough tech advancement to not be living life like the 1950's
we can agree to disagree, but to simplify what i'm saying...knowing what we have now vs what was available in the 90s, nobody is willingly going back there without technology. you can "i don't need to be connected" all you want but i'm saying that's coming off as some try-hard shyt. :manny:

and some of yall are slick including the 2000s so soften that tech-gap. :russ:

you can call it try-hard, i just said i'd go back. i'm not speaking for others, i'm speaking for myself. i didnt struggle in that era, there's absolutely nothing i can think of now that i couldn't live without...and we can keep it at the 90's, high speed internet, HD tv, cell phones, and competent search engines all existed. they werent in everyone's home but if that's where tech advancement stopped, they would be everywhere like they are now. like not all of us live life to be connected to or entertained by a screen

Technology made people less social. Maybe it’s a case of my age not sure. Girls were easier to get and maintain. Now you competing with dudes from different sets and ultra Simps. Getting a girls number was more significant. Owning Movies and Music was a flex, now everything is a click away nothing unique these days. I was depressed for the longest when I got scammed for my prized possessions, then realized one day the shyt don’t matter as I can get most of what I lost for free online just not the physical copy

alot of this is glamourizing being disconnected. LOL

knowing what we have now, nobody is going to willingly go back WITHOUT technology. it'll be cute using a payphone and yellowpages a couple times, then NOT being able to reach in your pocket and google everything would have people hittin that :beli:.

knowing what we have now...it'll be fun to go to Sam Goody and Blockbuster once or twice to get music and movies, but then you'll start missing having this stuff in your pocket.

And on the search engine thing, yes we had search engines in the early 2000s but that was still on a whole PC. And even having the internet everywhere was later in the the 2000s.

i'm sure there are whole bunch of other things we use technology for that i can't even think of right now. but people are definitely over doing the nostalgia for that era.
People actually interacted and had to put effort that required skill back then. I fail to see how anti social in a social media era is better. Lames can’t get no girls because they not out in the field they think they can just get a girl on social media :camby:

I didn't start working until 94 95. Most of the jobs were bullshiet, Walmart were not inside the Perimeter (Atlanta) less you talking about Wesley chapel which was already a hell hole.

The early years of security were cool, I didn't know what I was missing until it was gone and it took 20 years for some semblance of it back.

Unless it’s work related only a geek would carry a laptop everywhere he went back then. Walk man got the job done just fine with music. If you have no social skills and a complete lame that isolates himself then yeah today is better

yall over doing the "we talked to each other" bullshyt. LMAO. It's more like extroverts had it good because people were forced to be around yall everywhere. Extroverts cry now days because more people don't have to be forced to be at the club with them and shyt like that. :dead: We see yall crying about "people heads stuck in there phones and they don't talk to me" bullshyt.

Again, yall would go back to 1995 and soon as you needed to google something, you jumping back in that time machine. :russ:

maybe the clubs are dead because alot people never really like clubs and there was less competition for our entertainment in the 90s. it was the club or be at home watching Johnny Carson.
