If thats the case then why people terrified of Trump?

I'll give you five points...

1. He is a glowing symbol of White supremacy in an America with changing demographics. He doesn't hide what he is at all. He is a throwback to old school bigots like George Wallace.

2. Trump does not have the temperament to be the leader of the YMCA much less president of a world superpower. He feels the need to verbal jabs and insults at anyone that doesn't agree with his line of thinking. This is a man that has access to nuclear codes and weapons. Obviously, he has advisors that I'm sure somewhat keep him check, but that is very dangerous.

3. Trump has appointed 2 very conservative Supreme Court Justices in Kavanaugh and Gorsuch. Those guys will shoot down civil rights cases brought before them and they will directly affect laws involving Black people long after Trump is no longer president. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is hanging on by a string. If something happens to her while he's in office he'll appoint a third Supreme Court Justice. These are LIFETIME APPOINTMENTS. They will make decisions on laws that will affect generations and generations of people.

4. The Democrats just took back the House not long ago; however, if the Republicans had the House, Senate, and presidency they would relentlessly ram through legislation and trust me it would not benefit any non-White people period.

5. Moments like the failed COVID-19 response. His administration knew about this last year and didn't respond and the American workforce basically came to a stop for 2 months. Now we are at 20% unemployment, in the midst of a pandemic, and many already struggling small businesses filing for bankruptcy and going out of business. That's less American businesses, less jobs in the workforce, and likely more poverty. That typically affects Black folks directly as well.

Who the president is matters, but those local government positions are just as important.

a snippet:
At one point in the hour-long call, Trump told the governors they should aggressively prosecute protesters and pursue long prison terms for any crimes committed.

“You don’t have to be too careful,” Trump said. “You have to do the prosecutions. If you don’t do the prosecutions, they’re just going to be back. … Somebody throwing a rock, that’s like shooting a gun. You have to do retribution, you have to use your legal system.”

While the comments alarmed some of the people on the call, there was little pushback from the nation’s governors. Throughout the call, Trump suggested the riots and protests were not the result of anger at policing policies, but were instead the result of professional instigators and a supposedly organized movement.

“These are professional anarchists in many cases,” Trump said, adding of the protesters: “These are easily led people.”

Nearly every governor seemed to accept this frame. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican and frequent critic of the president, told the Trump that he “couldn’t agree more with what you said.”

“Peace through strength,” Hogan said, citing his experience handling the 2015 protests following the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore police custody.

“Everybody’s saying the same thing about these out-of-town agitators,” Hogan continued. “It seems to be very organized.”

Maine Democratic Gov. Janet Mills, a former attorney general, asked Trump and Barr for any “intelligence” they had “regarding the source of the protests and bad actors and professional instigators.”

“I’d like to be able to prepare for any professional instigators,” she said. “We haven’t seen that yet in my state.”

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) similarly asked for any intelligence the federal government might have about groups targeting Louisiana.

The only governor to directly challenge Trump during the call was Illinois Gov. J.B Pritzker (D). “I’ve been extraordinarily concerned about the rhetoric that’s been used by you. It’s been inflammatory and it’s not OK for that officer to choke George Floyd to death,” Pritzker said. “We have to call for calm. We have to have police reform.”

Trump shot back: “I don’t like your rhetoric much either,” before criticizing how Pritzker had handled the coronavirus pandemic and arguing that he had addressed police violence on Saturday in his brief remarks about Floyd’s death before watching the takeoff of a SpaceX rocket carrying two American astronauts.

So still no date huh?

All we're is a guy who had 8 years to "fix" something shouldn't have to make a here's what I would do about this letter. You wouldn't accept that in your personal life,so why accept it because it was Obama?

The date is in the article, clearly you don’t want to read it... Sucks for you but you in here exposing yourself

They made it too 'tough' for him to get anything passed for blacks even when Dems had control over the house and senate, but somehow it wasn't too tough to go to war in libya or give wall street more handouts just like Bush, and now like Trump.

I hope a lot of you complaining about what Obama did or didn't do actually vote in your local elections.

That has way more of an immediate impact than anything the federal government will do for you.
This thread shows a lot of why Americans are like this. Essentially they're completely clueless to your post and Obama's message and understand where real change and impact can be made. Something Killer Mike has been stressing a lot but people just ignore it and say w"didn't you fix it when you were in charge?" America, yall goy a looooooooong way.

I'm not going to act like its much better in the UK though.
