Another one I bought in 2007. I was 21. What a changed landscape of both the music industry, and for sure, my life. I went to Best Buy or somewhere like that to buy this, and then put it on an IPOD.

P talking grimy grimy over Alchemist beats. I still have tracks from this on my phone.

Legends is my favorite. I bought anything Prodigy or Hav did in those days, I bought The Kush lol

I bought HNIC 2.

stop with the anniversaries brehs, they making me feel old

:mjcry:
fukk it breh. Just roll with it. So much of feeling dusty vs feeling youthful is a mindset.

This album is really special for me. This dropped right before I got clean and sober when I was at my worst. Really lucky to not be dead or locked up. I've had so many fun memories with this album over the years.

And to think this shyt was almost relegated to a G-Unit Radio mixtape. :salute: to 50 Cent for letting Prodigy breach his G-Unit contract so they could actually give this a proper release on Koch Records.

Album is really dope. Lyrically Bang on Em was fire

Not to take away anything from it, but I think the album with Sid Roams from 08, Product of the 80s, is actually better than this.
two entirely different sounds IMO.

Product of the 80's was on some Miami Vice neon synth shyt mixed with horrorcore vibes, and Return of the Mac was more soul chops combined with dusty drum breaks and loops.

Fun piece of trivia. Alc was a big fan of the choppier beats on there like Bang on Em, Stuck On You, and Stop Fronting. P liked more of the loops on there like Mac-10 Handle, New York shyt, and Nickel and a Nail.

So they did about half and half of each and they sounded dope sequenced together.

Classic album…. and a lil unexpected, p got like 4 or 5 classic albums, that’s crazy and I can’t think of an artist with more

RIP Prodigy, a GOAT
P has my favorite solo catalogue of anyone that started off in a group and then moved to solo work later. Him and Ghostface.

Facts…I fukkEd wit that album when it came out…went back and realized how dark that shyt was, you can tell he was in “a place” on that album… I mean “am I crazy” alone wit the intro is some :sadcam:type shyt… like the Illuminati was bout to poison us all

Dope album tho

The infamous
Hell on earth
HNIC
Return of the Mac….to me are all classics

Jay might have two or three if you consider the dynasty…Nas has 3 at least especially with his latter work….but for p to be gone his catalogue is supreme

Also Jay was always a solo artist, so he didn't even come to mind.

Also, a lot of cats think Albert Einstein is better than Return of the Mac. I think the music is probably better and the raps are more like HNIC era P. But I won't argue with anyone that likes Return of the Mac more. It's got a lot more nostalgia for people, and a lot of people love those soul samples more than the space rock psychedelic shyt on Albert Einstein.

But make no mistake Albert Einstein is one of the best and most slept on rap albums of the 2010's/

Not to me…but that’s why I gave him almost 5 because I know nikkas who rock wit that album in a major way, like as a certified classic….that’s his possible for me, but I don’t argue wit those who say it is
