Wasn't this the first album Alchemist produced entirely?

I know there was the 1st Infantry comp, but in terms of just linking in with one artist for an album.

It's funny, remember before this my one complaint about Alchemist was that he hadn't showed whether he could hold down an album start to finish and create a coherent sound, as up to that point he was mostly just doing one off tracks for lots of artists, every so often maybe producing a few tracks on albums by P or Dilated Peoples, but I wanted to see him handle a full project. And this is kinda the beginning of that, and now he barely does any one off tracks and mostly produces albums.
yep this was the first full project he produced for anyone.

Nah, that's similar but not the same.

That and Honey Drippers is prolly the goat open drum intro for looping. Been used a lot. Nas, Ghost etc.

I meant the snare drum specifically, my bad (although the volume is also elevated a bit). I know the break on Legends isn't the same drum programing as what's on Steel Wool.

I know it’s because I’m old, but to me this is one of the last undisputed 5 mic classics. This album blew me away.

and this is my favorite record on here:

Is a nickel and a nail :steviej:

The fully loaded 2 5 :win:

With 1 extra bullet on the side :banderas:

That nikka P bug enough to bring my gun where that's wildin' :birdman:

It's too much cops there, chill P, you wildin' :whoa:

fukk that I been through too much to start calming :pacspit:

Down now, seen too much to start falling

Off of my gun game nikkas is Re-tarded

Won't catch P bucket naked without my pistola like Adam in the Garden :demonic:

Its beasts out in the field and apples ain't shyt when you starving :childplease:

Damn I miss P, man. Dude's birthday is the day after mine :mjcry:

What most make in a year, I get off one song

and that shyt is not fair to you? Well fukk y’all!!

RIP prodigy a true legend, that stood out in an era full of them.

They're not the same.

No filters, no volume etc. They're just not the same.

Sound somewhat similar though.

Since the new Mobb single, I been playing so much Mobb music. I haven't played ROTM album in so long. It's aged really well. It's crazy how it was basically made as a throwaway mixtape back then, and it was actually not even meant to have a proper release at first.

Prodigy was rapping pretty crazy on here, and it's crazy too because it sort of predicted some of the new styles Al would try out. New York shyt, Rotten Apple, and Nickel and a Nail are all basically "drumless" beats.

I got a bonus version with some other songs they recorded for it like Dirty New Yorker, Veteran's Memorial 2, and The Dough and Represent Me. Such an iconic sound.
