We'll I agree with the qb part you can contend with a franchise qb even if rest of the team is mediocre like a lot of recent Pat teams the Packers etc it's just extremely hard to get one but you have to keep trying because there's not a position that's close in importance as the qb
You need the coach in place to groom the young QB. Picking that guy is basically a roll of the dice at this point.

I think Idzik went too far with the West Coast player philosophy. The West Coast offence functions best with shifty, fast receivers that run slants and yards per catch. As such Idzik waited until the 4th round and drafted a cabal of diminutive, quick guys that can't get separation.
