Exaggerations are definitely annoying. You know like judging our o line on a few series of the first preseason game, or judging late round draft picks that havent played a snap yet.:sas2:

Why dont YOU name the corner you wanted, then link a post of yours before free agency saying you wanted him. Its easy to see we should have done something and not offer up a solution.:sas1:
So you won't answer my question.

What Tanny like DB contract did I ask for that would have mortgaged the Jets future?

I will judge those selections because I trust my own eye when it comes to selections more than most. Especially when more often than not I'm right.

But that has nothing to do with me asking which proven player I've clamored for along Tanny like lines that would have cost us the Jets future.

There was a general incline in his play after week 6...not worse as that article suggested.

I agree the article is misleading, so is the statement that he got better as the season progressed.

I like the guy, he cleans up the turnovers and if they get him a real target he might become a very good QB, but he also might get ruined by the Jets organization too.

He's got what it takes though, he's a leader, got the physical tools. Now it's just cleaning up his game

I want best for Geno, but I just don't see it happening under Rex Ryan. Dude doesn't give a fukk about offense. And seems like coaches have taught Geno if it isn't there, run. I don't think that's good all the time. They need help him step up in pocket and not be scared of pressure.

Based on how good Sanchez looks in Kelly's system, I agree that Rex's involvement markedly reduces the chance of Geno succeeding. However Geno has shown improvement, which is a positive sign. Most notably his footwork has improved:

One of the players who stood out to me this preseason was Jets quarterback Geno Smith. The tape shows a quarterback who has shown significant improvement in his second year.

When he came out of college a few things bothered me. He had footwork issues because he played in a true spread offense, I knew he'd have to work on his anticipation passing and progression reading concepts, and because of footwork issues he would struggle with accuracy. So I wasn’t surprised by his struggles as a rookie. It was just part of the process. In the last month of his rookie season you saw incremental, but significant, improvement.

Smith carried that over to this preseason. He is much more comfortable in the pocket, and more refined going through progressions. Smith is clearly seeing things with more clarity, and is more aware when a throw is not there. Smith was oblivious to pressure. He threw with consistent accuracy. This preseason it looked like the game has slowed down for Smith. He's much less frenetic in the pocket.

In the third preseason game against the Giants, Smith had a 27-yard pass to Eric Decker in which he calmly manipulated the single high safety to open up a crease for Decker to get open down the seam from the slot. It was a great example of his growth.

I don’t know what will happen when the regular season starts. I'm waiting to see things like how Smith understands progression concepts when he starts facing defenses with coverage rotations and disguises you rarely see in the preseason. But Smith has the traits to be a good quarterback. He just needed a lot of work. And he has really improved.

Who will deny that? Problem is, you want to deny his better play or minimize it

I've stated he played better in the last 4 weeks, and looks more polished in preseason, but its regular season lets see what he does. And during that 4 week stretch where Geno was only completing 7 passes a game, dude looked like one of worse QBs ever. I want Geno to succeed, but I just don't see it happening under Rex. Dude doesn't give a fukk about the offense. This dude hires offensive people off other people opinions. Dude has hired Tony Sparano, and David Lee(our current QB coach) because of Bill Parcells. Hired Sanjay Lal( WR Coach) because he went to see Holmes and talk to him and because Holmes liked him, not based off of production, even though Raiders were ass under him. I could keep going.

Sanchez has looked amazing in actual games for the jets.

Sorry but a first round talent In his fifth season looking good against back ups and plumbers in the preseason means exactly nothing. Wake me up when sanchez is playing well in the regular season.

You don't want Geno to succeed. You want your stance against him to be proven right.

Difference between me and you is that even when I criticize Idzik I hope he proves me wrong . You go all out to reaffirm your negative outlook.

Dude put me on ignore, but lets not act like Sanchez didn't shred Pittsburgh 1st team defense with 2nd string offense.

His footwork has looked better, but I think dude is playing too safe right now. He has to be stopped being scared of pressure. I know people talk bad about Eli Manning but that game against 49ers where dude took brutal ass whooping all game, but still standing up in front of pressure was amazing. I just don't get that feeling with Geno that he can take us to super bowl, or win in big time games.

I can come off like that, when I feel I'm right about something. I still want every player to succeed, only thing I want is Rex Ryan to be fired, because dude will never get it done. How long do we accept mediocrity ?
