The spare cap we have this season will be rolled into next years cap. We need cap space to lock up players in the future.
Ithis is year two of a rebuild nothing more. Flashy free agents signings only win you the off season. You build through the draft.

So tired of this contrived "free agency is to be used for Super Bowl contenders only" mentality Idzik has fostered onto Jets fans. free agency can be used to build a great team just as much as the draft but at a higher cost. With all the cap room the Jets had, one decent corner wouldn't have hurt them much

Idzik went after two corners. One used us leverage to get a better deal From the colts the other got a ridiculous contract from the giants.
Over paying for a corner just because is idiocy. That cap money rolls into next season and it will be used.
Besides which nobody could predict the rash of injuries weve been hit with.

Idzik low balled some corners. Even the NFL radio guys were cracking on him saying you let a DRC in the building, you bring food or drinks, but you don't let him out the room. The Jets did that plenty, and all fans do is hide behind this forced "only teams on the cusp of a Super Bowl sign big time free agents" thing. Who made up that rule and since when has that been the rule of thumb? I don't hear former NFL players say that. It's so forcedforced
I wouldnt want drc here on that contract.
The only thing thats forced would be over paying for a mediocre corner when we arent contenders anyway just to placate people that bytch no matter what.

The debate about whether we should have spent or saved can go on forever. Looking forward though, who's out there at CB that we can pick up?
