Destiny is a mmo type game. Driveclub and the division can both be played offline
Destiny has single player. There was nothing stoping them from offering an offline mode for that. The division is all online.

In driveclub you can't even get to all of the content without a connection. Your points and experience don't even save without a connection. The game is a shell of a game without the Internet. And that's why I said y'all advocating for shyt that hurts y'all. Sony wasnt against online only cause they were fighting for you. They were against it because they don't have the infrastructure to pull it off. Y'all told them that's great, keep giving me the shyt you been giving me. So they invested their money in new ways to charge you for old games instead of the infrastructure that would make your experience better.

You're missing the point. If I don't want to, I shouldn't have to. I've already made my purchase of the system. If I don't want to connect to the internet I shouldn't have to.
Like I said if you have to come with unrealistic scenarios to prove your point then it was stupid to begin with. Why would you purposely unplug from the Internet, just so you can complain about needing it? :stopitslime:

And yes I've gone days without having access to the internet too

YOU CAN STILL PLAY THE GAME! What's so hard to understand about this? Obviously you won't be able to access online portions of the game without a online connection.

And Sony did it cause they're a global brand and it would've hurt their pockets to release a system in areas where they don't get the same type of speeds we get here.

The stuff you can't access isn't online stuff. It's cars and career progression.

That's what you believe? Then why are they dropping games like driveclub, and putting out services like PSnow, share play, ect. They don't make a bunch of money in Timbuktu. They get all ther money from the same large markets as Microsoft and every other tech company.

Cause sometimes I don't want to be bothered while playing a game. That's unrealistic? I don't want people sending me invites and such, I just wanna relax and enjoy a good single player experience without all the notifications and what not popping up.

LOL @ you acting like someone can't go without the internet for awhile. But I'm done with this convo, can't keep going back and forth with someone who refuses to look at things from an objective view

Can easily be done with "appear offline mode" or just hooking up for 10 seconds for the check in.

I'm looking at it from an objective view. Technology in 2014 is inherently connected. You and I are communicating over the internet. Its not like its some difficult commodity to get.

It is the height of irony that the people complaining about an Internet requirement are using the Internet to lobby their complaints:beli:

Japan, but from the 989
Last I checked....MS ran with the idea because EA thought it was an amazing idea. Then Sony showed up at E3 and proved to the world that it was an INSANE idea. Even if Sony thought about doing it a little big, Microsoft was out on the front line saying "Always Online". Mattrick even went so far to tell people to get a 360 if you can't get online. This is Totally in Microsoft's backyard.

Meach doesn't understand that he lost this argument a year ago.

Thread is dumb as fukk. The people spoke. Mattrick lost and now Microsoft is playing catch up as a result.

It was always for the devs. Microsoft was just the one who took the fall for it.

Digital and online gaming is the future. People's Microsoft hate got them advocating shyt that does not benefit them at all. Got them hating on things like the cloud, while they wait for weeks to get online functionality on games they purchased.

Having a fully connected experince and being able to trade/share/sell digital games was a bad thing cause the people on submarines wouldn't be able to do it:heh:

It's like watching Fox News convince poor folks to keep voting republican, due to their hate for everyone else, despite the fact that those votes are exactly what's keeping them poor:wow:

i really wanted this. The funny thing is that the people that were bytching about this were the larrystation fagboys and the younger crowd who still had mommy and daddy buying them games.

PS4 vs Xbox One Console wars--NO DRM

PS4 stans "i mean... what if i dont have internet for a month..i wont be able to play my game? thats ridiculous. I hope xbox loses the sales war because of this."

The word was already out that this wasnt something coming from either console's offices. It was coming directly from the developers themselves. but nooooooo, stan a console instead of paying attention to reality.

Anyone has the sales figures for 2k15 for both systems?
Anyone in here with a PS4 willing to admit that 2k15 is an "ALWAYS ONLINE" game? meaning if their servers are down the game doesnt work Even with single player modes? I know this is the case because i'm playing it on XBOX. any time or moment the server is down(was down for hours after that first patch this friday) i could not play MyCareer( a purely single player mode). They have you locked into being always online because their VC(in game money) is connected to the game and connected to real money you probably will end up spending to get more VC.

This didnt come from M$ it didnt come from Sony it came from the Devs of 2k15. So all that going crazy was all for not. Now sure some of you will say "oh well at least WE..won the war" Who's WE? iS sony's online setup as solid as Xbox live? NOPE. so think about this for a moment. sony's online isnt and never has been as good as live with MS as competition. what the hell do you think they are going to do to fix things if there isnt any competition(cause you sony fanboys would love to see M$ disappear...or so you think.)

Think about this for a moment. all or just about all of your games or at least the big games that everyone plays will be locked in as DRM-esk games. on a console that doesnt have a A quality online setup. pretty messed up dont you think? or will we ignore this to get back to Stanning?
so you're comparing what 1 game does... who isn't even gonna be on the all time list of sales when the gen is done....

but you're comparing that, and 1 mode... to an entire system of games, that will be released from day 1 until 6-10 years from now????

i just want to confirm this before i go all the way in

they were gonna let you trade and sell digital games :ohhh:

cause they main reason people went ape shyt, was when they said you'd have to have a special code, and retailers MIGHT let you trade in games

then they stupidly went behind that and said.... you can't play used games because of this feature

Why do you fools still not understand that the big problem MS had was the fact that they were taking away choices for the consumer. That's why people were so upset with them and also the fact that there are problems with digital only that we have yet to get around for the majority.
and that goes to my above quote

i think if they said, the xbox will need to connect at least once every 24 hours.... goodnight

it would have been ok

coming out with.... remember those cheap games you'd find in the bargain bin... gone.. remember beating a game early and selling it for $45 on ebay.... gone.... remember gamefly.... gone... redbox... gone... friend coming over to play madden... gone... trading in 3 games to get the new cod for free.... gone

but hey... you can share games digitally (which still doesn't beat physical sales WITH dlc added in)

nobody was trying to hear that shyt... to this day nobody complains except a few of y'all..

but to hear y'all tell it, it was lies spewed from sony stans.... even tho 360 was clearly the leader in sales and install base.. even tho what would be the point of us making your system change, when we already declared victory by NOT having it... literally hours after y'all came with out with the plan

so sony stans saw you had a great idea... said, lets murder this idea before we find out if we got the same shyt going on... found out we didn't get that shyt.. but then said, oh well, lets start an uproar to make microsoft change the system to better match up with ours... when clearly most of the world was already riding for the "more options" team

maybe 360 owners just didn't fight for it hard enough :sas1:

or maybe we didn't actually want that shyt either :sas2:

makes sense and thats your choice. but 2k just said you aint playing our game unless you're connected online. So lets assume for arguments sake you're one of the millions who have or will purchase 2k15. you will be stuck in a DRM system via the DEVELOPERS from 2k. not sony, not xbox. but the devs. at the end of the day YOU... CANT...PLAY... GAMES...WITHOUT BEING ONLINE. and thats against what you believed in is it not?
so without the internet, i can't start up nba 2k and play an exhibition game???

i don't have it.. i really don't know

i think you have to understand people are fickle... they don't care when, why, what, how

they care that i bought this system, i bought 2k, if the internet is off or i'm in a hotel (try getting on hotel wifi with a system) for a week, i can still play the game

ps4 said, maybe.. that's up to the devs and the game... with the majority of games having zero requirement

microsoft said, fukk no... all the games will have this requirement... then told consumers to fukk off

and we still questioning why things went this way???

i'm a 360 owner... i had every intention on getting both systems again... soon as that came i cancelled my preorder... soon as i heard the ceo shytting on the consumers like "fukk what you want, go play 360".... i did exactly that...

put the 360 upstairs for netflix :sas1:

put the ps4 downstairs for gaming :sas2:

and mysteriously... i think that's the perfect use for both
