As a YouTuber, I will never support this sentiment.
Ads are how we make money on the platform. With all the BS we have to put up with regarding copyright claims, false DMCA's, YouTube's ever changing policies, and all kinds of other nonsense on the platform, the LAST thing we should be worried about is our audience not supporting us by attempting to skirt ads.
You're essentially spreading info that strips people like me of our livelihoods. Which is fukked up if you apply this thought process to any other independent/small business, but for some reason, y'all don't see it like that for us.
The average person has ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE what goes into producing a video on YouTube, from the writing, to the shooting, to the editing. All of those things singularly are literally each career fields, and yet, we do them all as YouTubers.
So what you're telling me is that you want all of that effort for NOTHING. Which is crazy, because YouTube already is free; all you have to do is sit through an ad or two. But nah, you can't even do that for us, the people providing hours and hours of endless entertainment on a free platform.
All this is going to lead to is even more paid sponsorships, where we are required to spend a minute or two promoting a product IN-VIDEO, something your ad-blockers cannot block. So the end result is a net-negative, where you're going to watch an ad made by the creator themselves as a part of the video itself, or you're going to force YouTube to become a paid platform.
Then what you gon do?
