They charge separately for it? I still get both for $10/month.
Like someone else told me earlier, it was kept as a package deal if you kept your subscription. I fukked around and ain't have enough money in my account one time and my 2 for 1 deal ended

As a YouTuber, I will never support this sentiment.

Ads are how we make money on the platform. With all the BS we have to put up with regarding copyright claims, false DMCA's, YouTube's ever changing policies, and all kinds of other nonsense on the platform, the LAST thing we should be worried about is our audience not supporting us by attempting to skirt ads.

You're essentially spreading info that strips people like me of our livelihoods. Which is fukked up if you apply this thought process to any other independent/small business, but for some reason, y'all don't see it like that for us.

The average person has ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE what goes into producing a video on YouTube, from the writing, to the shooting, to the editing. All of those things singularly are literally each career fields, and yet, we do them all as YouTubers.

So what you're telling me is that you want all of that effort for NOTHING. Which is crazy, because YouTube already is free; all you have to do is sit through an ad or two. But nah, you can't even do that for us, the people providing hours and hours of endless entertainment on a free platform.

All this is going to lead to is even more paid sponsorships, where we are required to spend a minute or two promoting a product IN-VIDEO, something your ad-blockers cannot block. So the end result is a net-negative, where you're going to watch an ad made by the creator themselves as a part of the video itself, or you're going to force YouTube to become a paid platform.

Then what you gon do? :martin:

How dare they support the content creators so they can keep making the content they enjoy
:bryan: what are you 70 years old?

Most content creators have patreon and if they get enough views for YouTube ads to be significant income they already have millions of subscribers or are sponsored. This is like saying if you don't stream Drake on Spotify then how will he pay his bills:mjlol:.

Vast, vast majority of YouTubers do not have even 1 million subscribers, and sponsors are performance based.

Aba and Preach, and Kevin Samuels, creators that I would classify as extremely successful, have about 1.5-1.7 million subs. This is the YouTube 1%. Most other "successful" YouTubers are in the hundreds of thousands of subs, not millions. Even more are in the 10s of thousands.

This is not even close to comparing to Drake, especially because Drake's revenue is not directly tied to ad revenue.

You people really have no comprehension of the relationship between ad revenue and the Internet. Basically everything on the web is connected to ad revenue, meaning the more ad blocks you try to run, the more you're fukking up the cash flow of people that run the internet, which means either the ads are going to get worse, or your favorite sites are going to shut down or become paid sites.

It is a direct correlation.

This site itself runs on ad revenue. Twitter. Facebook. Wikipedia. If you enjoy using the internet in any capacity, that site is being paid for in AD REVENUE.

You guys don't realize you are cutting off your own nose to spite your face :snoop:

Had YouTube premium/red til they split the YouTube and YouTube music. Can't justify paying for both separately when I'll be paying double the price. AdBlock make it do what it do tho, unless I'm on the playstation/tv app

If the ads were more of brands that i fukk with instead of loosely related random ass shyt then i wouldn't mind them. Searched manuka honey one time and my shyt was bringing it up everyday for bout 2 months straight. I did read that it had many health benefits..most of the same perks that sea moss is sposed to have
I’ve studied ad relevance. It’s really hard to show relevant ads in today’s environment. Apple stopped third party sharing, people opt out of sharing their info, etc. if you want relevant ads, the company has to understand your behavior, and to do that you need to share your data with 3rd parties

I created a Pi-Hole server to block ads on the network level

I haven't seen ads in a minute
Does Pi-hole stop YouTube ads? I bought a raspberry pi 3 for that very reason and ended up not using it because it blocked normal ads, but YT ads still came through
