Add wild wild west into that list :russ:

100% what a spectacle that was. I saw in theaters, I was 13, just a totally outrageously bad movie, but I remember Salma Hayek, gracing the cover of EW that summer, as one of the more defining moments of adolescent attraction, and that Will Smith song with Sisqo, that was a major hit, kind of Will's last moment as an artist.

according to Puff himself Black Rob WHOA saved Bad Boy

Yes black robs solo in September was the first new artist on the label to drop since the lox solo album in 1998. Even though badboy ran RnB in 98 with multi platinum albums from 112, total and Faith he had a hard time with follow ups on 99 forever and mase double up. Biggies born again moved half a million units first week of December 1999 but as a new act black rob saved badboy with whoa!

Will passed on the role of Neo in the muthafuxkin’ Matrix for that movie SMH

the remix with Shyne is what should've been released, perfect to have Shyne Buzzing before his debut. Like someone said here, Puff didn't really sign soft dudes on his roster, everyone could spit! The genius was Puff getting them to do HIT singles without compromising who they were. WOAH, BAD BOYZ, Special Delivery weren't any cookie cutter type cuts. The marketing that went behind it was the genius part! :takedat:

that was puffs talent as a producer was taking these street cats as diamonds in the rough and exposing them to the lifestyle and the giving them the tools to craft hit records. The challenge was them to fit the badboy brand at the same time as balancing who they were.

If the lox would of stayed with puff they would of had a majority of the beats from black Rob, shyne and gdeps debut albums and would of been leading those cats on posse tracks.

the production on life story, Child of the ghetto and shyne debut are way better than the stuff lox had on ruff ryders or jada or styles debut

Glad this Puffy thread came back around. I want to restart and end an earlier argument when @Razzay (puffy's daughter or something) said that they compared Puffy to Quincy Jones. For anyone that thinks that is a fair or even legit comparison, all you have to do is watch the documentary on Quincy Jones playing now on Netflix. It will finish this conversation once and for all. PUFFY ... GTFOH
