See you stupid Smart nikkas, I will say for your dumbs ass once again. While Lupe was going on his every few months Kendrick rant, Lamar TPAB was voted 19th greatest album of 500 that's what I said.

Who gives a fukk about Rolling Stone, Grammy's, or album sales in a debate about bars?

Imagine anyone talking about that shyt when arguing if Kane was better than Rakim.

with this shyt trending on social media Lupe would be crazy if he not working on a dope ass track RIGHT NOWWWWW
even if he not addressing this, hitch a ride on that wave man

If he smart he would do that because Lupe hardly make waves or trend when he release shyt

And the only time I see him trending on Twitter is when Kendrick Lamar is attached to his name when this is like the 3rd or 4th time Lupe is trending off the strength of Kendrick Name

Food & Liqour and The Cool isn't niche music. This was before Lupe got too focused on making every lyric a quadruple entendre and making these over-elaborate metaphors on every song. Back then Lupe could do less with more and create music that was intelligent but entertaining, in many ways those two albums did go on to influence the artists you mentioned, and Kendrick himself probably.

.
Your clearly someone who is just regurgitating what you heard about his music

Lupe from the beginning of his careers was doing super lyrical rap even before his debut album with Revenge of the nerds.
one of his most popular albums was a album full of entendres as he was telling a metaphoric/allegorical story in The Cool.

But no one but message board lyric nerds are getting inspired by anything he's done since. He's gone too far in one direction with his recent music and it's just too much for most people. This is Canibus doing 10 minute Poet Laureate tracks. It's self-indulgent.
@Bolded:You dishonest narrow minded nikkas keep turning this solely into a mainstream discussion. Which everyone knows kendrick is more mainstream acceptable.

But that doesnt mean Lupe is canibus or that Kendrick is a better artist than him because of that.

Dude is independent and on his own of course his music isnt gonna gonna be widespread like that.Plus as I said given Lupe's style he is indeed not palatable like kendrick to the mainstream espescially given his content of being more like a concious rapper. and how he goes about his music

But yall seem to want to focus this convo only on that, when artistry is not focused solely on that.

And you kinda summed it up.

Lupe shouldn't be comparing himself to Kendrick, if anything it should be Ab Soul.
.
its kendrick stans who keep bringing him up to Lu, and Lupe and ab soul outisde of being influenced by Lu lyrically aint all the way the same either. Ab is not even that much like Lu lyrically as hes more punchline like.

There's levels to this shyt. Lupe could've been in that Kendrick lane if he didn't go down the road he went after The Cool, but now he's much more in that "You catch that entendre, brehs :krs:" lyrical miracle rap professor shyt that Ab Soul is relegated to.
There is, but its not solely based on who is more popular as you seem to completely base your ideas on.

Lupe and kendrick aint the same, yall seem to completely play stupid on the different content they cover. One is more social political focused content(Lupe) the other is more self reflecting(kendrick). Their approaches in music is to different. NVM the other things that make them different

Kendrick is not like Lupe whether you talkin mainstream lu or todays Lupe at all.
Lupe said he's a better lyricist/Kenny is a better artist but I have yet to see anyone contest that with any Kenny verses or quotables so what are we doing here?

Whole lot of deflection and straw man arguments...
Even in the argument of "better artist" the only point these stans seem to bring up for kendricks point is "hes more popular than Lupe so hes a better artist"
thats literally been the only counterpoint brought up that and people playing dumb that "lupe is like canibus"

One side of this discussion/debate has mostly just been doing exactly that deflecting, straw man arguments, talking out they ass, etc

I didn't say he never used metaphors or entendres before.

But previously his songs had more room to breathe and it didn't seem every single song was overstacked with complex word play. He used to be looser as a rapper, more playful. Now it's a chore to listen to his shyt front to back. It's whole albums of Dumb It Downs.
