How are y'all always tryna quantify impact, like damn near every rapper ain't have some type of impact? Hell, ninjas are still quoting Ahmad. And he's barely a footnote.

You can say that Pusha/Clipse benefited from Neptunes, but Neptunes benefited as well. How come their formula didn't work for Most Wanted? And Kelis didn't even go gold. So the Clipse were a perfect match at the perfect time.

With that said, Jimmy isn't even in the stratosphere for anything.

Honestly, The Neptunes were never really good at breaking acts even The Clipse. At the height of The Neptunes' popularity, The Clipse only went gold. This was with "Grindin" sharing up the world and a follow up club hit with "When The Last Time". They were featured on The Neptunes produced "Like I Love You" by Justin Timberlake and even performed with JT on the VMA's and still only went gold. All this is after the first Clipse album was shelved.

Explain how The Neptunes benefited from The Clipse.

You're getting emotional about a rapper you've never met but I'm "a hoe". You got it tough guy :russ:

You can admit that he doesn't have any but you still like him...that's perfectly fine :ld:

Nah, I just don't like seeing men not being objective, moving goal posts and arguing positions that were never taken. That's a feminine trait. Me calling you a hoe is a reflection of your actions, not me being emotional. You act like a fakkit, I'll call you one :yeshrug:

See how you jumped to "rapper you never met" assumption. Another thing women do, assume. You need to have a serious conversation with yourself and your estrogen ways

Pusha has like 3 great albums and the other is at least dope…and that’s excluding The Clipse.

He has two of the greatest (imo) diss records ever (Beef and Story of…), after hearing them you definitely didn’t think the other side won, lol. Both of them joints were serious.

He has been here thriving for over 20 years.

Grammy noms, critical acclaim, success, relevancy even today at his advanced age, etc…

I mean, one could easily argue Push absolutely being Top 40-50 ever. It’s much harder to argue him out of the Top 50 without using goofy, Jim Jonesish metrics

I think it's misleading to say Push has been thriving for 20 years. Clipse as a group spent years in record label Hell, which wasn't necessarily their fault, but it was industry politics. The Re-Up Gang tapes kept fans fed in the interim. They had critical acclaim for both Lord Willin' and Hell Hath No Fury, but even the most die hard Clipse fans felt Til The Casket Drops was a step down. We all know Malice and Pusha went their separate ways after that. Push has dropped three critically acclaimed albums and two diss records. Great career overall, but when we look at Push, could you truly say this was one of the greatest runs in Hip Hop. I don't think so especially considering as dominant as The Neptunes were when Lord Willn' dropped, that album didn't really see The Clipse dominate. When Push got with Kanye, we didn't see it either. Again, we saw The Neptunes give #1 records to established artists and completely redefine a career like Snoop's. Didn't see them have that level of success of newer artists. We saw Kanye take Twista and Common and elevate both of them, but when it came to Push, we didn't see similar results.

It's not really misleading when "Grindin'" was 20 years ago and his latest album hit #1 on Billboard.

And it's disingenuous to compare him to Twista/Com when both were rapping and building a fanbase 10 years before Clipse even came out.

And I'm saying all this as someone that doesn't think he's top 50.
