Have you seen O'Quinn's defense?

What about D-Will's defense and rebounding? Is it that shocking that you won't play for Fish (who was a defensive beast as a player) if you don't play defense (unless the franchise is tanking for picks)? In 12 mins, D-Will is shooting 36% from the field and 27% from 3. Only Sasha (who gets similar mins) and Jerian (who gets more mins) are shooting as poorly as he is.

You do know that Lance played 5 mins, right? And that, Sasha played 3 mins. :comeon: So much for the "Fish don't know when to yank" narrative.

Gallo's young legs need to be protect because we know he (and the rest of the young players) are gonna hit a wall. We all know the basketball season is a grind. KP had legs for the Houston game because he wasn't forced against OKC. Besides that, what exactly did Gallo do on either end last night to earn more mins? :what: He was 1-9 and let Tyler go off.

If the way NY shot last night won't allow y'all to blame the team, I don't know what will. Even Rolo, who started well, finished shooting 5-12. Y'all just burying your collective heads in the sand and saying "what 78 pts on 32% shooting and 16% from 3?" It's a shame how y'all manage to blame everything on him, except getting a new team to play elite defense with a winning record (and best road record in the East going into last night's game) through a brutal schedule against great teams. Y'all act like he just made NY shoot like that.

Prediction for the rematch: Miami's bench will be who we thought they were. NY's bench will be who we thought they were. NY will play well defensively like they did last night, and much better offensively. I like their chances of winning. I fear the refs who like to see every star go off in the Garden, except 'Melo.

I don't respond when we're all Knicks fans but...some of your points are off.

O'Quinn isn't a great defender but he provides toughness that hasn't been here since Kurt. He can also pass, and surprised me by being able to hit the 10'. He should be playing more. He was benched for no reason AND he should definitely be playing along side of KrisP in that second unit - something that Fisher has yet to do. There is no reason why Amundson should be getting mins over O'Quinn. Especially vs a team that's attacking the paint.

Fisher wasn't great at anything - not defense, not offense, he wasn't even a good PG...he wasn't even a solid PG. He could occasionally hit the open J. I don't understand how he got a head coaching job anyway. He's not Jason Kidd or Avery Johnson - PGs that controlled the offense...and Avery was groomed. His rotations are asinine. He puts an offensively inept team out there, repeatedly. He subs 4-for-4 like he's coaching hockey. He's in love with Lance Thomas and Lance isn't good at anything but he's definitely hoorible at some things (inbounding ball).Sasha goes from starting to riding the pine. So why was he starting? You know what you get from Derrick Williams - energy and running the floor. So why not put him in when teams are running? He has to get a solid rotation so that players know what they're expected to do and creates chemistry. You mess around with the lineups when you're getting rocked and you're trying different things to keep the effort up.

I love Melo as well and he's unfairly criticized and flat out hated. But I won't knock KrisP for him, when Melo needs another scorer and they are playing well together. You can bash Wrong Lopez, Grant, Sasha, Calderon and Lance Thomas.

Seen the game this am and noticed as soon as Thomas went in that the heat went on a run. When Sasha went in... It continued.

The Knicks Still Seeking the Perfect Rotation

Its a great article on their being too many random rotations.

Also this is why I am adamant the knicks need to go hard after Batum this FA to take Lance Thomas role and be the high quality wing off the bench. D-Will, and Lance are too unpredictable and neither seems to fit well with the rest of the starters.:jbhmm:

The only real justification for playing 13 guys is to build up their value to try and trade them..... Is Fisher and Phil on some chess shyt or is it bad coaching idk...... Phil keeps surprising me with how he plots shyt out.

It's Seraphin who is getting mins over Kyle, not Lou. That said, Kyle is averaging more mins than both of them. Seraphin is playing defense and making shots. Seraphin doesn't have the vision that Kyle has, but their assist totals are similar. Their ppg totals are similar because unlike, Seraphin, Kyle is reluctant to shoot, so, he's not helping the offense. Kyle isn't just "not great" on defense, he's putrid. I watched him closely against OKC and he is clueless out there. He doesn't even know the defensive stance. He just leans in on his opponent and keeps poking at the ball, just begging for a foul to be called, which is why he averages 2 fouls in 13 mins. He doesn't know to squat and move his feet laterally. Players are shooting above 51% against him and 7% above their average. NY can't have that. Meanwhile, players are shooting under 42% against Seraphin and 6% under their average.

Fish was a great defender. He would often help on defense of a player he wasn't even assigned to and then recover to take his man's dribble way. He wouldn't "occasionally" hit an open J. He would do that often. He won several playoff series' that way, including one against the Spurs with 0.04 seconds on the clock. He was a good 3pt shooter. He was a great leader and coach on the floor to his teammates that saw the game brilliantly and would direct his teammates accordingly. He was just as good as Kidd at that and a better defender than Kidd was. I'm from L.A. I know the Lake Show. You clearly never watched him.

Moreover, Fish sure is doing more with less than Kidd is right now. Only reason he didn't last year was because NY had picks, so the tank was on again, just like the year before.

Lance is great at defense and I hate him because he's clumsy and can't shoot. You didn't see him punk Harden? KP got the shot off in time in Charlotte and should've caught that lob in the Garden. It's always someone else's fault when KP does something wrong. Sasha was starting because Arron was out and the bench is potent with Gallo and Grant coming off of it. D-Will is shooting 36% from the field and 27% from 3. He won't play until he uses some of that "energy" for boards because he's 6'8'' and only grabs 2 boards per game in 12 mins. Players are shooting 45.7% against him and 4% above their average.

I can't believe I have to explain these things. Do you pay attention to anything? :what: Arron is another scorer. KP isn't yet. And when did I "bash" y'all precious Teflon P? :snoop:

Y'all keep cryin' every game about Fish like NY has a terrible record. :why: His "rotations" has a new team (who was injured for most of the season and still is) playing elite defense and a winning record (including the best road record in the East going into last night's game) through a brutal schedule against great teams. They are never out of a game. They had a chance to beat every team they've played. He has 'Melo playing better defense than he ever did when he had 2 knees (which is saying something because 'Melo has been a good defender for years). He has 'Melo playing elite defense. He has his guys playing hard for him. He's managed the guys's minutes well, especially the young guys who will hit a wall in the basketball grind. That's why KP had legs in Houston. He didn't force him against OKC. Fish has been very impressive, far beyond everyone's expectations. Y'all tryna play him like he has nothing to do with all the good things I just noted about the team. I find it extremely arrogant that you and others think you could do better at all, let alone in your second year.
