For the agnostics in here, what is your reason for believing that a god may exist? Why aren't you just an Atheist?

I know there is a greater force in this universe due to personal experiences. I am not an Atheist because it is impossible for things to be this ordered in the universe if there wasn't greater power(s) in existence.

I have a bit of difficulty in labeling my religious beliefs...I guess I'm in the camp of "there may or may not be a god...but I don't know". I have, perhaps incorrectly, labeled this "I don't know" camp as Agnostic.

What I know is that I tend to base my beliefs on evidence...and I simply haven't had evidence presented to me that pulls me in either direction of the god/no-god spectrum.

With regard to not jumping to the Athiest camp... I see the declaration that "God exists" and "God does not exist" as equally strong, evidence-lacking statements.

Actually, the latter has more merit.
The concept of a "god" or an "all knowing creator" has to be fabricated somehow, does it not?
There is evidence of it's existence in our daily lives.
To say "there is an invisible, intangible balloon floating behind me," would be ludicrous. But since there is "no evidence it doesn't exist," how can you say how ridiculous it is? The same is true of "god," if there is no evidence of it, the idea is ludicrous. Yes, there is a possibility (not probable) of the existence of a higher being that has some modicum of control over the universe. But there is also the probability that Michael Jordan will come out of retirement, sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers and dunk on Donald Trump after he is elected President.
I can say with confidence that there is no "god" as described by humanity, and that there will be no Air Jordan dunking on the ridiculous presidential candidate Donald Trump.

We are pattern seeking animals, but I suspect you invoke meaning in certain patterns where there isn't any. Just because a cloud in the sky looks like a dinosaur doesn't mean some conscious entity made it that way.
