You really need to get a life if these are the type of things that keep you awake at night. :shaq2:
As I post at 1 PM EST :russ:

I know I'm not the only one who called you on out on being a poser as wannabe hip hop fan but this post lets me know I'm the one that hurt you the most.

Drake is a cornball and a fraud and there's nothing you can do about it

What are your thoughts on the Sprite shyt then? You think he deserves to be mentioned/advertised among the upper echelon of the genre's most celebrated artists/MCs?

Watch how you can tell the difference between a stan and an objective fan

Breh he had no place on that billboard and I deff expressed that sentiment last summer

Ask @SunZoo

Answered the question without getting emotional or having to insult someone or rely on smileys

Cant answer the question so relies on corny rhetoric.

You can find an example of what outbackbread is saying in this very thread:heh:
Just look:

:upsetfavre: dude ...first of all.......IM FAR FROM WHAT YOU WOULD CALL A "STAN"

that some shyt as far as im concerned that INTERNET DUDES such as yourself are fascinated about

im simply a "consumer" I've accepted that role...ever since I consumed the "product" of artists I liked such as

KOOL KEITH, KRS ONE, GOODIE MOB, POSDONOUS and LORD FINESSE

im also a 40 year old flabby and sick former b-boy who got familiar with the "creative process" of these "artists" enough to realize

THIS IS NOT A CULTURE!!!!!!....it's a BUSINESS

:flabbynsick:

this CULTURE has been a FRAUD since the days when SUGARHILL GANG appropriated the lyrics of GRANDMASTER CAZ and Chants and Slogans of various Bronx mcees such as Kid Creole and others...

SO SHYT HASN'T CHANGED...DRAKE DIDN'T REINVENT THE WHEEL

I respect and see the "game" for what it is....one big dog and pony show full of marketing schemes and trends :win:

so for the record my old larry holmes looking azz is not a "cheerleading fan" for DRAKE or ANY ARTIST FOR THAT MATTER...

I simply like what I hear when I happen to be commuting or somebody happens to play his music over the jukebox at the local sports bar I attend

I AINT NEVER EVEN PURCHASED ANY RETAIL DRAKE MUSIC .....only thing I got hold of was a BOOTLEG COPY of THANK ME LATER for 5 bucks from some
African dude in Decatur Ga.

like I said im old dude :manny:

Drake is NOT making music for my generation or what I can relate to, but what I do hear over the airwaves is CATCHY and ENTERTAINING...

No he isn't on the wavelength of rappers I admired such as the KANE's, ANDRE 3000'S, OC's, G Raps and Nas

he simply does whats necessary to get the attention that evidently has translated into sales

and GOT ALL YALL MONKEY AZZ WANNA BE B-BOYS up in arms.....over NOTHING :russ:

see my days of consuming WORTHWHILE MUSIC is over as far as im concerned..i just come in this board for the fukkery, viral information and networking

so for me.........I DON'T GIVE A FUKK... :russell:

last RAP ALBUM I recall buying was DEVIN DA DUDE's "TO DA EXTREME" back in 04.....

I JUST FIND IT AMUSING that these so-called "HIGH PRIESTS OF HIP HOP" on this board has made him the SOURCE OF ALL THINGS EVIL in hip hop :heh:

listen I remember being in studios in Atlanta back in the early days of the trap movement watching cats do the SAME DAMN THING drake is doing

having access to a team of writers, connected to powerful jewish bosses in the game, getting all the perks of simply being assocociated with someone

and im a tell ya...LIKE I TELL ALL MY BROKE AZZ FRIENDS OR PEOPLE SIMPLY WILLING TO LISTEN ON HOW TO MAKE IT REGARDLESS WHAT FIELD U IN

Its NOT what YOU KNOW..it's WHO YOU KNOW :birdman:

DRAKE might not know how to craft his own flow ...but he knows how to get to the dough...

and to all yall "cultural" fools out there arguing me saying "MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING"

you right :smugdraper:

it's not EVERYTHING

IT'S THE ONLY THING :shaq2:

I understand that it's slowly becoming the cool thing to hate son because of all the accusations (some valid some still need proof) but when his music comes on in public places (clubs, bars, radio, arenas, festivals etc) do you deny the quality and begin trying to convince others that he is a "fraud" or do you enjoy the music?

Straight up question...

I've really grown to enjoy his music and seldom do I hear anyone throwing him shade offline so I want to know?

I'm not really hyped about "Views From The 6".. I wouldn't be mad if he scrapped that album and came with something fresh but for real.. I want to hear yall's answers
nothing is wrong with pop music thats fly for the clubs, nothing is wrong with EDM music either. nothing is wrong with any top 100 music. The problem we have with drake being bigger than life. Is that its a fraud portraying himself as some great rapper like those of the past when he's not that guy. and it makes it that much worse that his fanbase... you know the ones that say 'who cares about all that'. well black people (enough still do) care about all that stuff. there's a reason we care. hiphop isnt pop. there are times where a hot hiphop song will make it into the stratosphere and become pop. but hiphop at its foundation is about a people's struggle and how they react to said struggle(laugh, cry, have fun, bust ya guns, etc.) When you hear a song like started from the bottom. you're like I can vibe with this. a lot of us black folks have started from the bottom. But once you realize you didnt start from the bottom half jewish kid. stop it. you start to feel some type of way. then once you realize the songs you do like due to the fact you like the flow and the vibe of the song, then someone puts you up on the fact he's literally stealing up and coming rappers entire styles, thats not authentic either. But lets be clear. yall allowing a CO in Rick ross become very popular and copping pleas for him when he was called out, opened the door for a drake. we warned you about this.

No Drake is fun to listen to on the radio, he still has the occasional moment of greatness here and there, I never considered him a top MC in any form, but he does know how to make a hot song. He is what he is.

This is what I've been saying for months, cats are making it seem like hip-hop was real and Drake killed it when people like us are old enough to realize most of these posters have been :deadhorse:

I'm saying...we're in a thread...discussing a topic...a relevant topic in hip hop...and she out here getting butthurt

And is damn near a cliche in the fact that we ain't talking about his hair, his skin tone, who he's fukking...

We're talking about his legitimacy in a genre where authenticity has always been a major focal point. A genre where he himself has compared himself to the greats...

And here this one comes swooping in, with nothing of value to add to the discussion mind you, because she is a poser and doesn't really analyze the music like that, so she can't even begin to comprehend what people are really getting at in here...

She just know she likes his shyt...which is cool, but speaks volumes about the validity of her views on hip hop music...

No it was a culture during sugar hill and its still a culture now. now the mainstream form of it is turning into nothing but a business where as before it was part culture part business. there have always been frauds out there. but not pushed on the masses as the One like drake has. But thats for a reason. its optics friend. extra bright skinned half jewish dude. its really that simple. if drake was a half african american and half brown skin carribean. you wouldnt see this level of a push behind a fraudulent act.

it's not just business for money's sake. its business for money and optics sake. White people/Jews others play chess, we've been playing checkers for a long time. so its hard for most of us to see this kind of stuff or admit it when we do see it because we WISH it were not so.

I'm not saying we don't create trends..

Not many my G. You can state the obvious and on the contrary the most influential and innovative artists have both large CAC & blk fan bases .

Bone Thugs
Dr.Dre
Future
Jeezy
G Unit (50 Cent & Game)
Murder Inc. (Ja Rule & Ashanit)
NWA (Eazy E, Ice cube, Dr.Dre)
Wu
Cash Money/No Limit ( in their primes)
Lil Wayne
Deathrow ( in their prime) ( 2 Pac, Snoop, Dr.Dre)
Kanye West
Public Enemy
Run DMC
Jay-Z
Nas
DMX, Eve, & The Lox
Puff & Mase
B.I.G

ummm.... I could go on and on. Cacs love the same ish we love.. You should go to more concerts and festivals

Drake does a great job of blending the modern hip hop sound with conventional R&B. He also is a pretty decent rapper. Whether he's reading someone else's raps or he's spitting his own. He makes good music.
And all those artist had a predominate black fanbase before crossingover its never been the other way around

Drake bigger than Drake?

Aside the Sprite business Drake doesn't come off like an artist who's claiming to be the greatest MC..

We care about all what stuff?

Hip Hop has been apart of pop culture for 40 years.

Foundation of people's struggle monetized by who/whom :pachaha:

Started from the Bottom wasn't a rags to riches song my g...

You sure you're a moor? usually we don't have to say things like a lot of us... ?
