Drake bigger than Drake?

Aside the Sprite business Drake doesn't come off like an artist who's claiming to be the greatest MC..

We care about all what stuff?

Hip Hop has been apart of pop culture for 40 years.

Foundation of people's struggle monetized by who/whom :pachaha:

Started from the Bottom wasn't a rags to riches song my g...

You sure you're a moor? usually we don't have to say things like a lot of us... ?
the top part i edited. dont know how that got in there like that. and you can quote me as many times as you like. it wont change the facts. we have a fraud running around like the king of hiphop. it wasnt all him either. the machine did it too. I said this back when he was awarded best new hiphop artist. that was back when he was doing 50% R&B. so i'm like they are realllly reaching now.
The machine has been pushing this dude on us as if he was the greatest rapper alive since he dropped. they also had us thinking it was a huge organiz situation. shoot, even had me in threads talking about drake should keep it indie. again. all fraud status.

he could win an award for best hiphop fraud of all time. BHFA

I'm not a Drake Stan..

I'm objective enough to appreciate his art without feeling insecure enough to belittle him.

i know...hence why im not addressing you like one...and for the most part we've been agreeing on a good portion of this debate

with that said, can you honestly say that drake "doesn't come off like an artist who's claiming to be the greatest MC.."?

I mean... I didn't take it literally

dude was on a TV show

The bottom, being on the outskirts of the music business and wanting to get in the music business

It's almost subjective at that point. his "Bottom" isn't the bottom generally speaking

i know...hence why im not addressing you like one...and for the most part we've been agreeing on a good portion of this debate

Only time I got that vibe was on Game's 100...

Outside of that this dude was always biggin everyone else up.. He never claimed King..

It's 2016 my G..

We're living in a social media driven everything exposed era

Everyone and their mother was completely aware he was a TV star turned rap artist when that single dropped in 2013

Drake never made it seem like he was slanging rocks on the corner to pay his mothers bills and get into the studio

Stop it

depends on the song. i like some of his music.

i've convinced a lot of his former stans that he's a fraud though. it's usually in a more personal setting though. not in some public place. my circle definitely knows me as the drake hater though. if we're in the car together, especially for a prolonged car trip they know i'm gonna bytch and talk shyt if they turn on drake. :manny:
Not one dam black face in there drakes a suburban gangster

So you never got that vibe when he said "Last Name Ever, First Name Greatest"?

"Never the flow though...they know I run that"

"And I could use a writer just to balance out my flows
But I never share my thoughts, this is all a nikka knows
And every time I try, it opens up my eyes
These verses are a chance to be remembered and reprised

And I would be performing this as long as I'm alive
So every word I utter will be mine"

hell..calling himself the new Hov (who he's considered the King multiple times)

none of that ever gave you that vibe bruh?

Really?

Public Enemy, Run DMC, NWA all had prominent black fan bases before crossing over ? :mjlol:

how old are you?

@The HONORABLE SKJ breh.... come read this man's post :russ:

Run DMC, NWA, and PE had prominent Cac fan bases THE WHOLE TIME

these guys are suffering from GENERATIONAL LAPSES...

but I can share the TRUTH cause that was MY ERA....

PUBLIC ENEMY never got played on black radio unless it was the late hours of the evening mixmaster radio shows with cats like Chuck Chillout on KISS FM who was the first to break tracks from the IT TAKES A NATION album...back in the 80's

CHUCK talked about it all the time.."RADIO STATIONS I QUESTION YOUR BLACKNESS ..YOU CALL YOURSELF BLACK BUT WE WILL SEE IF YOU PLAY THIS!!!" (bring the noise) PE

Same with RUN DMC...bso called black radio thought they were TOO HARD AND ROCK SOUNDING they didn't know how to put it in their urban formats

in fact RUN DMC first got seen via their video "ROCK BOX" on Night Flight a late night music video show that featured underground cutting edge genre acts...

IN FACT MTV took a liking to them easier than any r&b or black pop act..they had an easier time getting on MTV than Michael Jackson

And this WAS LONG BEFORE their CROSSOVER HIT "WALK THIS WAY" with AEROSMITH...

MTV use to film late night concerts and one of them featured RUN DMC with a young LL COOL J that clip is on YOUTUBE

you have to keep in mind hip hop at this time was seen as COUNTER CULTURE so the suburban whites who hated POP MUSIC and CORPORATE HAIR METAL BANDS were drawn to guys like RUN DMC which paved the way for BEASTIE BOYS....

Same with NWA....NO BLACK PROMOTER not even my beloved AL HAYMON (LMAO) WOULD BOOK THEM FOR TOURS...

It was GUNS N ROSES with "racist" azz AXL ROSE who had them open for him cause he loved the "controversy"...
