The answer is Hendrix but for me Wes Montgomery is the quintessential modern guitar player. Without Wes, it’s hard to imagine George benson, jaco pastorius, Ernie Isley etc.

I had a feeling that’s what it was, Jimi is the go-to for people when talking guitarist just like Big and PAC are for casual rap fans. I feel the same about Bob Marley he is the guy, but Bob isn’t even the best Reggae artist not even close he is in the Top 10, but he isn’t the head of it all in my opinion.

Feel like people don’t really listen to music they just fall in line with what is being said without researching!
