Yep. This right here on a rainy nightThe answer is Hendrix but for me Wes Montgomery is the quintessential modern guitar player. Without Wes, it’s hard to imagine George benson, jaco pastorius, Ernie Isley etc.
Ali Toure.Hendrix or one of them Congolese virtuosic soukous nikkas. If you know Zairean music, you know what I'm talking about.
They all say Jimi like White people always do, but I always wonder if any of them have actually sat down and listened to some of those old school bluesmen.Everybody in her saying Hendrix, but y’all not giving no love to the two men that birthed him!!! Chuck Berry and Johnny “Guitar” Watson they gave Hendrix everything to run free with they were doing those things back in the mid May to 1950’s and early 1960’s. Give those two legends they flowers MAN![]()
I had a feeling that’s what it was, Jimi is the go-to for people when talking guitarist just like Big and PAC are for casual rap fans. I feel the same about Bob Marley he is the guy, but Bob isn’t even the best Reggae artist not even close he is in the Top 10, but he isn’t the head of it all in my opinion. They all say Jimi like White people always do, but I always wonder if any of them have actually sat down and listened to some of those old school bluesmen.
