According to my previous faith, God created Angels who did nothing but worship him. Then at some point, he created beings with free will and will reward those that worship him with heaven, and condemn those that don't to the worst pit of fire imaginable for eternity.
Sounds like a malicious being with a requirement to be worshipped to me, but let these folks tell it he's a all-good being without need
This is why religion is all lies. All the qualities they attribute to God (anger, jealousy, craving attention) are human qualities. Man wrote the books according to their own ideas, agendas, and short comings. You still have people calling God "he" or saying God is a woman. An omnipotent being needs a sexual distinction for what exactly? Why would God have genitalia
Why would a being powerful enough to create an entire universe require the worship of humans? That means 99.999999999% of everything in existence is irrelevant. The billions of years before man existed are irrelevant. When man ceases to exist nothing will matter.
Religion is just antiquated and primitive thinking from a time when humans didn't think anything existed outside of this planet.
And how can man understand the mind of an omnipotent being? That's like saying ants understand humans.

day in day out they work and gather, fight and kill, born and die all in service of a queen who produces new ants. And when a greater queen arises the ants viciously kill the brood of the prior queen and continue the cycle
