Questions about Nas’ rewind

One thing that was also genius about this song is that you really had to rewind it to fully grasp it. I mean hearing him play with the syntax of the sentences to where they were said in reverse order made you want to make sure you heard and processed it correctly.

I saw someone say this was an like an interlude and really it is. The song is kind of like the "B.I.G Interlude" from LAD except "Rewind" is a fully fleshed out song with a genius concept. It is just short and simple, but a fun listen forcing the listener to rewind to grasp everything that's going on.

cuz in rewind she’s walking back in the crib backwards and her clothes are gonna fall to the floor

because if the story was going forward

The story is easy to follow, but even with the simplicity, I didn't catch everything on first listen. When Nas started talking about the Stevie Wonder song he was listening to in reverse sounding like AC/DC or vomiting the vodka back into the glass, it's all

I’m serious. It’s not like I said the song was wack. I just said the story was blah and could have been better.

I got killed like this with the QB politics record. I expected more out of that song. I got bullied over my opinion. So I was happy to hear Nas on Drink Champs pretty much say if he would put more effort into that record more detail would been added. I know Nas and expect more from him than his stans.
