We don't want young rappers to rap like the 90s... we want the young rappers to be able to actually rap.
We don't want young rappers to rap like the 90s... we want the young rappers to be able to actually rap.
We don't want them to be like anything in particular. We just want them to respect the culture
/threadWe want them to be more lyrical and creative![]()
nikkas just want them to rap better.quick question - why do you think we want them to rap like its the 90s?
Ironically enough none of these old nikkas fukk with Joey Badass and other rappers "restoring the feelin"
It's a "damned if you do, dammed if you don't" situation for these youngins:
Do 90s revival shyt = Old heads call it biting, say if they want 90s shyt they'll listen to 90s shyt
Do present day shyt = Old heads call it garbage, say they'll stick to listening to 90s shyt
Well rappers are definitely more creative nowadays.
And why do motherfukkas have to be "lyrical" to be good anyway. Some of our greatest rappers were not lyrical at all.
"Lyricism" as a whole wasn't even something that hip hop was built up on. Rappers from the 80s weren't lyrical miracle. That was only a staple on the east coast when Ra came thru for a couple of years.
Then west coast music came thru with more emphasis on bass, synths n musicality. Dre n Eazy weren't spitting multi's n doubles
like many other trends this genre has gone thru. Being lyrical was a fad. And something that should be seen as a side dish rather than a main requirement
