It's a stupid question
it is a stupid question that ignores that we are talking about populations i.e. big numbers and it ignores the fundamental issue that we are not talking about black/white do/not do for individuals but rather patterns across that population and the effects these have on overall broad achievement patterns.
at its base there is an increase in allostatic load for black people generally and particular black males. that pulls the achievement (vs. effort) curve downwards across the board (assuming broad same effort capability across society) for brehdom.
structural racism and the attrition of racism itself (for whatever reason) are two major contributors to allostatic load and this creates both a mental burden and a physical / health burden.
how people cannot work this stuff out is beyond me
