The properties I've lived in had a manual code entering process, the ability to dial a number and be buzzed in or a help button where you can call someone who could verify the identity and let them in.

Actually living in a spot like this, you'll have to deal with the following from random people who shouldn't even be in the garage:
1) Littering (beer bottles, food that attracts rats, etc)
2) Break-ins
3) Car damage
4) Puddles of piss (and the constant smell)
5) People taking up all the good spots (especially when there's an event near)

After dealing with that for a while you start thinking "fukk the tailgaters" - man or woman, black or white. "Oh you forgot your fob? Talk to the front desk, show them your ID and unit number, and they'll buzz you right in "
