I saw it earlier and just kept scrolling, lol.

But this goes right back to not wanting to spend bread. You gotta be willing to spend to set the album up for success. Chef out here trying to pinch pennies on an album that's mad important for him right now. That ain't gonna work. Sh*t is corny with all this AI nonsense. The people need to see HIM.
if you like the album, a video shouldn't matter. Amerikka's Most Wanted initially had no videos upon its release. And we didn't care..

Lyrically I fukk with this. Wu still got it.

The features are weak other than Marsha, Wu, and Nas

"Wild Corsicans" is a skip this could have been left off honestly

Production is late 2000s vibes....cool nothing crazy.

Anybody saying this is wack is tripping....anybody saying this is classic is also tripping.....This was a decent/respectable project

AMW was on an entirely different level. We definitely can't compare that to this Chef album.

We come from the era where the videos were a part of the album experience. So if you're not really feeling certain songs and then the video comes out and you're into it, back in the day, that could make you like the songs a lot more. And it's the same on the flip, if you see a video for a song and it's weird or trash, you associate that with the song and that can definitely ruin a song you're already not that into yet.

It's also about wanting Rae, and my rap heroes in general, to excell. I want them to be the best versions of themselves, and I don't mean be '95 Rae - be the best of who you can be today.

Now, production and features are subjective. Perhaps Rae really felt this production or those rappers, I don't know. But showing me what you got damn sure isn't outsourcing your videos to some AI-studios. Shyt if you want to be lazy AT LEAST give us concert footage of the current tour or behind the scenes from making the album.

ESPECIALLY following up Ricky D's album rollout for Victory, who made a damn short film on your ass - THAT's what I expect from one of the GOATs and what I respect and what elevates the art and shows these youngings that the game is something to respect and put work in.

Very true.

Everything you just said, is exactly how I feel about it. The Slick Rick example is mad on point too. You can see the intent and the push for artistry with Rick's whole project rollout. We just want to see our legends still being creative and pushing the art to new levels for themselves.

When AZ dropped his last project, he was on IG using mad AI sh*t for promo and the people in the comments told him to chill with that. Dude had bulls breathing fire and all kinds of dramatic sh*t that had nothing to do with his brand. People don’t want to see lazy pushes. Especially from the legends who we don’t get to see and hear from as much as we did back in the day. That disconnects you from the people and puts a fake feel to something that's supposed to be authentic and just you.

If you told me that this album came out the year following Cuban Linx 2, and that it was a ‘More Fish’ type release, I could see it.

And I mean that as a compliment.

They sound like they could pass as CL2 leftovers.

Tracks that didn’t fit theme but were high quality.

:ehh:
