They're saying on npr that at least 30 commercial sized weed operations have been wiped out by the fire so far. Some of these growers had put up hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain the proper permits this year and they lost their whole crop right before being able to harvest it. Since it's illegal on a federal level to put any profits made off marijuana into a bank, one person has reportedly lost not only their crop, but all of their savings as well. Sounds like very few insurance companies are underwriting policies for this sector too, so most of these growers are just going to chalk this as a whole loss.

Y'all do realize that when the power companies payout hunfreds of millions or billions ,the cost will eventually be passed down to the rate paying customers thru the public utilities commission (puc) rate increases.

This reminds me of watching the news Saturday or Sunday and mark ibanez was up there, said his friend who is an artist lost $1m worth of work. Not sure if you can insure unsold work since there is no concrete value before a sale, but damn, imagine having a nice inventory of the product you're supposed to sell to live off of just burn to ash...damn.

Yeah, I'm sure there's TONS of art/recordings that perished in this fire. That area is pretty much the go-to area for famous artists that settle in the bay area.
