Again take it as you will but Nas said in an AMA a few years back that he didn’t write Gettin Jiggy Wit It but he was in the studio with Will while he was writing and gave him a few lines

Kane and Rakim were my favorites as a kid and it would've been a great battle but after hearing those bars Rakim had for him I don't think Kane had a chance on wax.
Rakim was just on another level at the time. It might be hard to appreciate if you weren't there but he raised the bar. He made the Shan's, Moe Dee's, and the other guys before him sound average to wack. They were just rapping while Rakim was a lyricist. Only thing comparable is when Nas dropped Illmatic.

Correction. He was accepted into a Pre-Engineering program. His mother was friends with the admissions officer at MIT and they needed black kids. Will’s SAT’s were high enough for him to get in but he never wanted to nor intended on going to college so he didn’t apply.
According to Smith, "My mother, who worked for the School Board of Philadelphia, had a friend who was the admissions officer at MIT. I had pretty high SAT scores and they needed black kids, so I probably could have gotten in. But I had no intention of going to college."

He did it with Nas and Knowledge was involved in some of the older shyt, but everybody always says Will was the writer first and foremost.
