Dude, get the fukk outta here with this. Sefolosha is in his 7th year and still hasn't developed a consistent three point shot. It's not gonna happen. Perkins is the equivalent of Robert Sacre, but makes $10 million a year. OKC is better when neither of them is on the floor. Gasol would be a MONSTER upgrade for the Thunder. They would be the favorites for the title, assuming Westbrook came back healthy.

I'm not saying he wouldn't be a massive upgrade over what we have now. I'm saying even for how trash Perk is & Thabo can be giving them, a young guy, & a 1st rounder up for Gasol isn't worth it especially when Gasol can just leave after the season.

Perk is needed for the Dwight's of the world. Teams still somewhat respect Thabo from 3 which is needed to open up the lanes for Russy & KD, on top of being our best perimeter defender. I don't want to give away any of these young guys yet. And teams are holding picks like golden tickets now with the new tax rules coming into play. Why give up all that for Gasol when a guy like Kamen could be just as effective for what we need for so much less?

David White, executive director of the Screen Actors Guild, has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Billy Hunter as executive director of the National Basketball Players Association, according to sources.

There had been debate whether a vote will take place at All-Star weekend, but no vote is scheduled.

Chris Paul and the executive committee's members have interviewed White.

White is a graduate of Stanford Law and a Rhodes Scholar.

White recently led a reorganization of SAG's union.

You dont want a star in that job. U want a nerd thats a ferocious negotiator. Those SAG cats have to deal with way more ruthless people than nba owners

Edit: He's black. NBA players are so tribal. :beli: They need to find the best man for the job, regardless of race. U can tell they pick dudes who relate to them personally moreso than professionally

Executives think Pau Gasol is the most significant player with a strong chance to be dealt, Thomsen writes. The likehihood of a Gasol deal has grown as the Lakers have dropped further from contention, Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding writes, identifying Chris Kaman, Jordan Hill and Steve Blake as other prime trade candidates on the Lakers.

Sam Smith of Bulls.com hears the Suns, who’ve been pursuing Gasol and his expiring contract, aren’t looking for short-term help and would prefer to trade for a player who can be a mainstay for years to come.

Smith also says that the Bulls are targeting veterans and buyout candidates rather than D-Leaguers for their 13th roster spot, suggesting Marcus Camby as a possibility, though it’s unclear if the Bulls truly have interest in signing the 39-year-old big man.

An NBA executive thinks that if Nikola Mirotic were eligible for this year’s draft, he’d be a top-three pick, tweets Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com.

Just because he's black now they have to pick the best candidate? I thought you brought up a good point with his being a negotiator for SAG. I also want them to select the best candidate, if he happens to be black more power to them. :mjpls:

I would want a few jews to at least be in consideration :mjpls:

But I looked this dude up and he was or is the CHIEF negotiator for the SAG. That is impressive.

I do think NBA and NfL players fall for the slick talking brotha a lil too often :mjpls:

And those 2 have the most fukked up deals :mjpls:

I'd like to see a woman in the mix too. I know the SAG got some bad bishes that can negotiate they azz off

"You see a lot of offers texted now," said an Eastern Conference GM. "It's like, `Would you consider your this for our that?' If you don't know someone pretty well, you wouldn't do that; but if you know someone pretty well, there might be a lot of that."
"I wouldn't text somebody a trade proposal because I wouldn't want any evidence of me offering a player," said a GM from the Western Conference. "Usually it's the younger guys. They're more comfortable with sending that stuff out; they're playing the odds, I guess."
"There's definitely a danger, I agree," he said. "But if you call and they don't answer, you might send one. A lot of times you're looking for a simple answer -- 'Hey, we'll look at something like this' -- just so you're not wasting people's time."
"In his text he was saying, `You agreed to this and put it in writing,"' he said. "It made me mad that he was putting words in my mouth that way. We still did the deal, but after that one I got leery about going deep in texts. Still, it's such a common form of communication that we're all pretty comfortable with."
