I've said for a while, when he doesn't think about the shot, he tends to make it. The best thing he can do to his jump shot is rush it. The less he thinks about it, the more the shot arcs. If I was a coach (and he has been working with a shooting coach lately), I'd basically drill him on taking shots with not much time left to see how much of a difference it is when he's shooting wide open with tons of time. There's a difference.
The team's already learned that when Ricky's forced to assert himself early, he's more likely to score baskets and open it up for everyone else.
