I think they will be more than fine with Exum in a couple years, he was the right pick for them, especially when you take into account how good they've been with player development.
They might be better short term with Smart but long term I think Exum will be good.

Favors /Hayward /Burks signed, Gobert /Exum on rookie deals, bench guys on cheap deals. Once KD leaves OKC they're gonna run that division on an annual basis.
