The problem is you're overvaluing those things and presenting them as though Rubio is the only player that can do them

He's the only one on this team doing it. He's the only one within reasonable acquisition that's doing it., which AGAIN brings me back to, bring in the solution, and all I got from you was "let Flip choose it"

and the negatives with his games are starting to outweigh the positives, watching a team not bother to defend him without the ball is just gross. I've watched a lot of your games the last two seasons and there's nothing I've ever seen from him that I think "damn, Wolves wouldn't be able to find that again". I just don't get it, he's not mediocre, but he's really not that good either, at his absolute best he wont be a top 10 PG.

The last time we had a top 10 at any position, it didn't make a bit of difference, so I really don't care where they rank amongst their peers as long as they can win games.

I mean the things you're talking about could easily be replaced by Rondo :scust: Your team wouldn't be in any worse position with Ty Lawson or any number of PGs in the league that can score more than 10ppg and shoot higher than 39% from the field. That "floor general" shyt is vastly overrated, just gimmie a PG that can get you 18ppg, 6apg and shoot around 45%.

Rondo's not coming here. Lawson's not coming here. Given the problems we have with this team, I can't say we'd be better. The problem is that you're looking at the team and thinking "man if they could just upgrade at the PG spot they'd be great" when you couldn't be more inaccurate about where the team stands. If you wanna decrease the importance of the PG and have a Rondo or whoever, cool, then someone else has to carry the team which AGAIN brings me back to the fact that there isn't a solution on the roster or off it. A future superstar ain't walking through that door.

KD might be back on Fridays game ... Brooks said he wanted him to go through a full practice first ... So if he practices tomorrow , its a good sign he will play.:myman:

The only way to fix The Wolves is to move them to Seattle.

Just cause he's the only one that can do those things on your team doesn't mean he should be more valuable than he is, you have means to go out and get better PGs. I already said the solution, trade him and one of the redundant young guys for a pick and a player, unless of course you don't think a team would give up a pick for Rubio.

The last time we had a top 10 at any position, it didn't make a bit of difference, so I really don't care where they rank amongst their peers as long as they can win games.

You should care though, because the gap between him and the guy that's number 10 is still pretty large. This is the deepest position in the NBA, if you don't have a top 10 PG you have no reason to be treating the guy like he's a franchise player. I can't even imagine this dude in a playoff series, how teams would just :camby: the idea of defending him, sinking down into the lane and forcing you to take a shytload of jumpers.

I didn't say you should go out and get Rondo or Lawson, my point is that Rubio isn't some elite level talent that has skills that are irreplaceable and I pointed out some PGs who aren't top 10 that can replicate the things he does. Nah, I'm not looking at them and saying they could upgrade the PG spot and be great, I'm saying that Rubio isn't very good and he's going to be an anchor moving forward when you actually do have a good team. Also, you have a potential superstar on your team already, you place Rubio above Wiggins which is just crazy to me breh, one of those guys is a lot harder to find in the NBA than the other.

We don't. You would think with those same means we could get a competent backup there or anywhere else, right? But they don't. Like I said, you wanna trust Flip, cool. The ledge is yours. Flip's idea of a PG is a guy who isn't a basketball player, but your faith is strong.

They don't have a top 10 anything if you wanna be real about it, potential or otherwise.

When the bolded occurs, wake me up. They're so bad, that worrying about this is a waste of time. They haven't had a good team in my adult life, but I'm supposed to worry about whether he keeps us from being known as a contender? The day this becomes a problem that needs to be addressed ks the day we can look at the team and go "damn they came a long way."

Also, you have a potential superstar on your team already, you place Rubio above Wiggins which is just crazy to me breh, one of those guys is a lot harder to find in the NBA than the other.

I'll call Wiggins plenty of things. I hesitate to call him a superstar (cue where everyone starts calling me a hater). Based on this season, he's got a long way to go without any guarantee that he'll get there. He can be great, but I'm not gonna bet on it. He has yet to establish a presence out there that can affect our W-L outcome. All the other shyt is meaningless if he can't help us in that regard. This is where we disagree. Your concern is with Wiggins. My concern is with the team. Until his personal success correlates into our own, I don't care what he, Rubio, or the others do individually.

I'm more willing to trust Flip than I am a PG that has been a pro for 10+ years and can't make a jumper to save his life. You have the means to get a better PG, your organization doesn't have the courage to actually dump Rubio though, everyone and their momma can see he's just not that good.

You do, I mean lets be real here, Wiggins DOES have top 10 potential at his position, even in a worst case scenario. Rubio does not have that potential even when he's at his absolute best, not unless he can make shots which he's shown he's allergic to.

If you haven't had a good team in your adult life, hasn't Rubio played a massive role in that futility, but you're giving him a pass for some reason. Maybe if your PG wasn't so awful on offense you could have made the playoffs last year, last year yall couldn't win close games and Love got shytted on for it (rightfully so) but wouldn't a PG that could come off a screen and not have the entire defense sink into the lane kind of help things?

Wiggins has a better chance of reaching superstar status than Rubio does of becoming one of the top 12 PG's in the NBA. Your concern is with Rubio as well though, you say it's about the team but fail to acknowledge that a PG that cannot shoot is a liability in the current NBA, this isn't the same league anymore where you can get away with having a dude like him out there building castles while the guy he's guarding is taking 5 threes a game and making 2 of them. Wiggins is the future of that team, not Rubio, everything should revolve around him because he actually has a much better chance of being an impact player that can affect W/L. How many teams are built around wing players like Wiggins, and how many of them are built around offensively challenged PGs like Rubio?

Look at it like this, if you put everyone up on the trade block right now, Rubio would get less offers than Dieng, but somehow he's the heart and soul of the Wolves?

They'd be better off with Kendall Marshall at less than 1/3 of the price.

:russ:

I wouldn't go that far, but I watch him and I'm just sitting there like :ld:

There are so many PGs that are better than him, nobody is checking Wolves games and saying to themselves "Damn, wish my team had Rubio". I'd trade him ASAP for whatever I can get, the position is too deep to be stuck with a guy like that.

You can't leave Kendall wide open for a 3 and dare him to shoot :yeshrug: and he's a pass 1st point guard :manny:

If he was on a better squad instead of these young inexperience squads, you'd see the value in rubio. Hes a legit top playmaker.

Why do you keep saying they have the means? They don't. Nothing should stop them from being able to even land players worth keeping around. They have 3 out of 15 yet you recommend dealing 2 of them to get another LaVine.

They'd dump him sooner than you think, but they also have no idea what they're doing.

Like I said, Flip's idea of a PG upgrade is a player who can't play basketball. If you wanna trust that, then God help us all.

I wouldn't go that far. If this is his worst case scenario, he's not top 10. Not that it really matters. Can he help us win games? Year 1 didn't help him or anyone in that regard.

If you haven't had a good team in your adult life, hasn't Rubio played a massive role in that futility, but you're giving him a pass for some reason. No unless you think him tearing his ACL and folding his ankle in half is his fault. The closest we've been to a playoff team in that time span was with him leading the team, but you want me to think giving that up for a near guaranteed bum would help matters

and it's hard to say what Ricky coulda did in those situations since he wasn't out there. Rick didn't like him, so he trotted out guards who shot worse and took less care of the ball.

You know what else you can't get away with? Your best player being a drifter and invisible. In order for that to change Wiggins has to grow a set. Alert me when he does on a consistent basis.

If Wiggins is the future of the team, it's not telling me much good or bad. I can't bank on someone who's not impacting the outcome of games positively yet. If he can do that, the results will show, but that's an IF not a WHEN. I haven't even seen a game yet where he's like "fukk this shyt I'll win it myself if I have to" and do it.

Well Dieng would be lucky to get good offers as is (and if he could, take the first good offer you get and run) He should be an example of how I'm not opposed to changing course on a player when warranted (but I'd bet you or someone else would say I'm being harsh on him)

He was on a better team last year, they were losing close games like it was going on sale. They actually had a positive point differential last year :dead:

I don't see the value in guys who shoot under 40% and can't score 18ppg or more, I shytted on Brandon Jennings, you really think I would like what I see with Rubio because he can run an offense? So can Rondo, give me a guy that will make quick decisions, move the ball and spot up for 3s over the "floor general" that can't get me 12ppg.
