Portland is balling.
:salute:
I thought they could fool around and put pressure on the 10th seed.
:lupe:
They have 15 games next month. Washington and Toronto are the only gimmies and they play them back to back. Oh and Philly.
:francis:
Next seven games:
@Cavs, @6’ers, @Celtics, @Thunder, Pistons, Warriors, and Knicks.

So why isn’t Mitchell ever mentioned in MVP conversations? Averages aren’t gaudy enough?

Probably. He completely shows out/whoops ass against the Celtics but for the season his 24/5/4 on 45/40/82 is very good but not great. Granted, just slightly below Derrick Rose's numbers in his MVP year.

That said, i think if CLE had this record 3 years ago during his first season (they were 51-31 and Mitch finished #6 in MVP votes) I think he'd be in strong contention.

Will Booker be on the block this Summer too or will Suns hold him hostage on a tanking team moving forward?
Curious what the market value / league perception of him will be

29 next season, so he basically is what he is... which is a very good but not dominant 2 guard with average athleticism, not an effective point guard, and just 2 All-NBA selections in his career... so closer to a top 20'ish player than top 15.

There's no point in keeping him if they're tanking, which will probably be a 2 year process minimum before they'd start to resemble a serious team again.

Oh it's going to be a lot longer than that as they're going to essentially have to become a FA hub to get themselves out of the situation they're in now.

They might as well call the Nets in the offseason and ask for some of those picks back they gave up for KD.

A lot of these contenders mortgaged up future assets for a championship run and only one of them has a ring to show for it.

2021 was such a turning point season. MIL, PHX, BK, LAC were never as good as they were that year with Giannis the one left standing. Dude living off that post season run even as his team (and his own health) falls apart yearly ever since then.

Of course there's also what happened to PHI that same post season, which set the domino effect of trades and moves that led them to where they are now.

i'd almost like to add LAL with some of the moves they were making but somehow someway them mf'ers stay finding ways to trip n fall right back into future success :mjlol:

I wonder throughout Grady Díck's basketball life, if he's been underestimated because he's white.

Like say he's in high school and it's towards the end of a tight game. The coach for the other team is in the huddle tryna come up with a play to score and one of his players be like "Ay coach, I can take Díck! My 1st step is too much for him"

Not a random observation, I just ain't wanna make a thread about it.

Oh, yeah

Warriors vs Cavs in the finals

It should be really high. Booker's still in his prime with plenty of runway. He has been the #1 option on a team that went to the Finals and a team that won 64 games.

In the West, Houston, San Antonio and Utah with Portland and Memphis as sleepers. Houston and SA need no explanation. Utah's interesting because they have legit NBA talent on that roster. They were in the mix the last two years because of it until they fully tanked. Booker, Lauri, Collins and Kessler plus whoever they pick in the draft could be tough.

Portland is somehow 27-33. They need a #1 option BAD and unless they get Lottery luck, aren't gonna have the great pick everyone expected.

Memphis...there's a ceiling to their roster and they have like 12 playable guys. Bane and other stuff makes a pretty straightforward swap.

Now, the East is where the real fun is for trades. Detroit is the team I'd love to see get him. They're the best story in the league but Malik Beasley can't be the second leading scorer of a team. They have Ivey, picks and Sasser...probably not enough.

Miami as always.

Orlando could REALLY use him and I believe they're coming to a point where they need to pick one of their guys to move. Paolo, Franz and Suggs are all right around 30% from three this season. That is untenable. Really, it comes down to Franz and Paolo, imo.
