Way too early season prediction 2025-26 Eastern Conference
1 Cavs - I think they needed a season like OKC did to experience playoff basketball. Without critical injury, they'll go further next season.
2. Pacers - Still one of the better teams in the East; will gain valuable experience from the Finals. More experience for the bench and a more motivated Hali & Siakam could have
them back in the Finals.
3. Knicks - Not a high confidence pick, but they do have the talent to be better than the teams below them. Still need a coach. This could go really good or really bad really quick.
4. Pistons - Should have sent Knicks home this season. They'll be healthier and more experienced; Bickerstaff has them going on the right direction. Team to watch in 2025.
5. Magic - On paper, they should be formidable and able to get out of the first round. Their defense is solid, but let's see if Desmond Bane can be productive enough offensively to take pressure off Banchero, Wagner & Co. I didn't like the trade, but time will tell.
6. Celtics - Their saving grace is that they have a decent coach, but he will have to do his best work to salvage what will be a throwaway season. I even expect more injuries to Jaylen Brown & Derrick White from having to carry the team without Tatum.
7. Hawks - Ice Trey (my dude) has a better team surrounding him, but he has slightly fallen off. Can he find killer form and lead his team back into the postseason?
8. Heat* - Only if they can steal KD from Spurs somehow. Spo gets the benefit, but he can't do much more with bare minimum.
9. Bucks* - Only if they somehow keep Giannis
10. Bulls - First full season with Giddey in charge. As an OKC fan, there will be highs and lows.
