Even if the Cavs were at full strength, I still think the Rockets are better simply because Thompson would terrorize that midget backcourt.

I hope fellow Cavs fans ain't thinkin' brittle ass Darius Garland is the missing piece to save the day:mjlol:

I wouldn't trust the Cavs in the playoffs vs Toronto either.

Cavs thinkin' they're on a collision course with the Knicks in the ECF, but I don't see it

Low key the Cavs would probably be starting Ball if they weren't limiting his minutes due to that knee. Their second squad actually brought them back in that game :sas2:

But he’s right. Mobley offensive bag is just not going to develop like they need him to (his ceiling on offense is very clear). With his slow shooting speed and lack of consistent three ball that he’s going to be stuck at 18-20 points per game and that’s not good enough to win it all.

Your second best scorer has to be able to at least get you 30 with some consistency ( J-Dubb with OKC, Brown with Boston, Klay with Warriors, Murray with Denver, etc). Mobley or Garland will never do that to help Donovan.

The sad part is, they had Markannen who could've potentially done it but they included him to get Mitchell. :snoop:

it’s early and he still has time to improve but Amen hasnt really takened that leap. Year 3 and broadcaster still just talking about his elite athleticism. He either needs to develop that jumper or become a better og. You can’t jsut still be a Swiss Army knife getting that rookie designated max contract. You can’t just excel at being an elite athlete. It’s becoming a trend where at West once a game you asked yourself, how did you miss that shot Amen(at the rim). Happened multiple times this game against Cleveland. There’s nobody with pg experience on the rockets staff or roster(outside of an injured FVV) to help mentor and mold Amen into that position.

Yea by all accounts it seems like a wasted offseason. He didn’t improve.

One commonality about current stars is they all became stars by 23/24, if not (far) younger.
  • Ja, Trae, Maxey, Mitchell, etc.,
  • Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, Wemby, etc.,
  • Shai, Luka, Tatum, Ant, etc.,
Even now, we're seeing Sengun (23), Cade (just turned 24), Duren (21), Jalen Johnson (turns 24 next month), even Giddey (23) ascend.

Amen turns 23 end of January, so yea he got time but whether he'll be a young Kawhi with rapid skill development or just a dexterious Shawn Marion.. we'll probably know by this time next year.

Shai this year is what I thought Kawhi was going to be 6 years ago coming off that Raptors title and having a loaded roster with year 1 LAC. He was also only a year older than Shai is now.

Fukked up how far things went left and his hairline went back :francis:
Don't understand how people didn't know Kawhi was cooked after that Raptors run.

He was diagnosed with a chronic degenerative issue by the Spurs AND he was dragging his leg most of the playoff run with the Raptors. By the time the finals started dude could barely jump.

When you hear the words "chronic" and "degenerative" it's over it's just a matter of who is going to be holding the bomb when it explodes. Or in this case falls apart :pachaha: .

With Donovan… he’s a 6’2 scoring combo guard.

Which means his path to winning is the Jamal Murray/Tony Parker copilot to a dominate big, (where he’s the “pg” but really he’s just the secondary scorer to close the show as needed).

i.e. Wemby-Fox, Embiid-Maxey, Jokic-Murray, even the best version of NYK is when KAT is dominant.

In his current role with CLE tho, it’s just not going to work with a smaller, frailer combo guard playing the 1 (Garland) and no dominant scoring big. If anything, he’d be better off in Atlanta in Trae’s place; as a sorta remixed Pacers.

That would make sense. I like Mitchell. He has that "it" factor. That championship DNA but his size at 6'2 hurts him

Yep.

Him and Uncle Dennis ran that PR machine good framing it like San Antonio was fukked up.

Yea, he’s phenomenal but compared to other stars who are bigger/taller, he gotta work way harder to score on offense as the bonafide #1 (career 44% fg in the playoffs) and will be more of a defensive liability.

Unless more injuries happen to the East teams, I don’t see Cleveland doing anything.

Boy you a kings fan what in the fukk could you possibly know about a good basketball player :mjlol:

You watch Sabonis do 30 DHO and get his chest stomped and you think you can look at a player as good as Evan Mobley and tell what type of player he will be :mjlol:

Person who makes food so bad his dog won't eat it tries telling you how to bbq brisket :mjlol:
Your current best two healthy players came from the Kings.

Even being a Kings fan, I've still seen my team play in the playoffs more recently than you have. @duckbutta
Now go ahead and write paragraphs about Wemby, who still hasn't made the playoffs and can't stay healthy.
