When the Jackson 5 came out, it rivaled Beatlemania.
The Jackson 5 are historical figures. They came out right after the Civil Rights Movement.
Black people were deeply impacted by 5 Black kids taking over the world.
They "boy band" as we know it today is The Jackson 5's blueprint. You had white knockoffs like The Osmonds, The Partridge Family, and The Brady 6.

Of course, these days they glaze over the impact of The Jackson 5 for obvious reasons.

You know
Huh ? How? The closest male singer to MJ is Chris brown.
Singing and dancing don’t simply make you Michael Jackson dummy. Beyonce has reach heights most have not. She’s A disciple of Michael and has his same work ethic.if anything usher is a perfectionist on stage in that vain. Back flips don’t make you Michael Jackson. Even MJ Dance moves wasn’t over the top. He was smooth with his dancing. Chris don’t have a classic album. So I don’t get why he should hold the crown

I’ve never been a fan of CB. I’m always surprised that so many people are. His music is largely cheeks to me

Only a youngin having just been conscious of the existence of music within the past decade or so would make such a mad comparison.

Being too young to have straddled the past era of music and the current one means your foundation and starting point is the new age, where clowns like Drake and Gunna are held in high regard, Kendrick is seen as a God and Chris Brown's name can be uttered in the same sentence as Michael Jackson's.
At some point the kids need to be told they don't know what they're talking about.
Can't keep being subjected to wild opinions like this :mjlol:

:jbhmm:Why don’t white music fans ever compare current acts to Kurt Cobain? Why don’t they compare them to Steven Tyler? How come none of them ever say Justin Bieber is as good as a singer as Freddie Mercury? Why don’t they compare that racist Cac Morgan Wallen to Johnny Cash?

:stopitslime:Oh that’s right, they actually value their legends, and don’t try to pit one against the other like crabs in a fukking bucket. Mike been Mike his entire life, since childhood and beyond the grave. Had grown ass men (some even gangsters) passing out at his shows, ain’t no damn comparison.

:mjlol: at more raw talent, :camby:
i understand mj is deified in many folks mind

so people resist rationality & sense

cb is the greater raw talent because as i said he was & still is unpolished

mj was being shaped & molded in the professional mold from early childhood by some of the best this planet has ever seen

what mj was is a logical result of what happens when that much time & energy is poured into someone & that person is receptive

cb is who he is just by some freak instance a kid was born in the dirt part of va & could do what he does

he does what he does with no special upbringing or investment from the culture

mj was like the literal child of the culture you get what i am saying

cb just dropped into the business cb raw no preparation

it's shows how the culture fukked up & failed it's children

that prodigies are no longer given that time & energy being pushed to become truly great
