That 5 yard rule has been in effect since 1978.
What are you talking about????????
But he would have produced in any era.....
The 5 yard rule was created in 1978, but wasn't strictly enforced until 1996 or so.

First off, calm down with the "insults." I'm sure we are both intelligent enough to disagree without insulting eachother like children. Where in the quote did Moss say he doesn't play 100%? You could interpret "I don't perform to my top ability" a lot of different ways...
Also, Like I said before you can't use that Cris Carter quote to define his entire career, especially since Cris Carter only played with Moss when he was 20-24 years old, a kid... If you remember that time period, Moss played with plantar fasciitis in his foot, one of the most painful football injuries you can have and most players missed time. Moss played and was productive that entire time until he finally broke his ribs in the NFC championship game...
I like how I put a quote of Ted Bruschi, Moss' teammate, saying Moss didn't quit... You ignore it and put a Chris Gamble Quote.. Me personally, I'll take his word over the opposing team...
Moss was injured pretty much the entire time he played with the Raiders... That entire squad was trash, and he took the blame for them being trash because he was their best player... They interpret him sitting out because of injury as "giving up"... The year of that Chris Gamble shyt, it was later revealed at the end of the season that Moss had been playing the entire season with broken ribs for the Pats and he was still productive...
This is why his teammates never shyt on him, because they know the inside info, whereas Chris Gamble sees him from the outside and forms his opinion...
Find me a quote where Moss displays "Me Me Me" "talk"... Asking for more money is not "me me me" talk.... None of his coaches say he displays "Me Me Me" talk...
The Vikings didn't ship him out for any reason other than Red McCombs the former owner wanted to fukk the team over, by moving their best asset before he sold the franchise...
New England shipped him out because they didn't want to pay him and he probably requested a trade in private...
Raiders didn't even know how to use him and thought his injuries would be a chronic thing... He was overpriced to them...
Look, we're probably not gonna agree on this... I watched Moss' entire career in Minnesota because I lived there, and never thought of him as a quitter.
Definitely respect your opinion on the subject, good talk:shake:
I remember beli sonning gamble bragging about shutting moss down reminding those cats you still lost the game. Folks kill me calling duke a quitter yet I watched this dude play with ankle sprains visibly limping but still on the field being used as a decoy during the mike tice era. Mawse never cared about the media or playing up for them. He never defended himself so the talking heads just ran with it.
My fault for the insults. I can't say all the injury stuff didn't happen. I'm not even focused on his career or season. Meaning he never said fukk this and just stopped playing any year.
But when he knew the play wasn't for him. Or he saw that "ehhhh I'm probably not gonna make that catch" he'd slow up. Or not run the decoy. Key times. Enough times that it became a known aspect of his game. How many ways can you interpret not playing to your ability. Knowing it, saying it and continuing the practice your whole career.
It's like TO. Great great player. But he drops balls. Not all the time. He's made clutch catches. Had amazing seasons. Records. He's a dropper.
Randy is a half asser. He could of easily beat every one of Jerry's records if he put in the work Jerry put in. He was legendary for his off season camps. Current players at the time on other teams would train with him. And said how hard it was. And this was still in his 30s. Didn't ever give up. Always have 150%. That's what makes the greatest, the greatest. That extra shyt. Jordan had it. Kobe has it. Montana. Brady. Deion. That drive to always get better, watch more film, train harder, study more. Imagine randy moss with Jerry rice's mindset.
Cats REALLY expected Moss to at least touch this pass?

he was only seen as this because he made everything so easy. Just like people are criticizing him for not catching a ball that went 6 feet over his head.Randy is a half asser.
so you dont think MAUCE worked hard in the summer? where did this come from? Randy MAUCE never had any weight problems. Never entered camp out of shape. It was always crazy to me that people think Jerry Rice is the only player who stretched his neck in the NFL, and why people think MAUCE never did.He was legendary for his off season camps.
They just wanted him to try. You think Crabtree thought he was catching that ball? He was fighting. He was fighting earlier for that pass when he got hit twice. Hard. For about 2 yards f he caught it. But he tried. Cause one time you might make it out of 1000. But you try every time. What if he tips it? What if he kept running and swatted the ball that was intercepted in the first half. Just try randy. Damn

people really cant admit Moss gave up on that play?
lol.
Its the friggin Super Bowl...and as the ball sails over his head and he casually gives up.

GIVE UP?
Dog....I'm watching this on All-22 right now. The ball is ten feet over his head AND in front of him.
You guys are incredible!! Anything to further your agendafied talking points.
It doesn't apply here!!
Wow.....

Moss is one of my favorite players ever. There's no agenda. He was dogging it throughout the game and wouldnt have been playing if Manningham was healthy.
Dont get why pointing that out gets ppls feathers ruffled. He stops on plays.

It doesn't apply "here."
I don't care about it. You're a known liar who creates things anyway. I'm so not surprised that you think Moss "gave up" on a pass that ZIPPED way over his head.

at their peak, Randy Moss > Jerry Rice.
