You could argue James Harden with a little help has done more than Pierce ever did with a little help.

Anybody could win a ring alongside KG, Ray, and Rondo with Doc as the coach.

I don't think Paul Pierce is better than Damian Lillard.

Pierce just doesn't stack up well to prior legends. And some of these new bucks have already done more with less than he was able to accomplish for vast majority of his career.

I'm not even trying to hate or anything. Guy could get buckets, get to the line, and that mid-range old-man flabby stepback was lethal.

But dude didn't take care of his body, was never considered a franchise anchor, people were never like OMG YOU SEE PIERCE LAST NIGHT, has no legendary moments without a superteam around him, and in general was a constant underachiever.

Like I said, other star players have gotten roasted and shyt on for less. Don't let the ring blind you.

Both of Dirk's title appearances came after Nash and Finley. Nobody on those 2 teams was an All Star other than Dirk. His best teammate on both squads was 6th man Jason Terry. This is where you tell me washed up 59 year old Jason Kidd was incredible and All Pro teammate for Dirk... Wade won in 06 with Shaq being a corpse. Shaq was garbage in those playoffs and especially in the Finals. Go ahead and be disingenuous, though.

Like I said, Pierce had like 1 good year where he made some noise with Antoine and then his team was absolutely flabbynsick for YEARS. All of this in an awful, watered down East.

All the talent was in the West, consolidated on the Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, Kings, and Suns in the early-mid 2000s. Pierce ain't do a damn thing outside 1 run in 02 playoffs.

Pierce's entire legacy is his GM acquiring KG and Ray and drafting Rondo.

Did you watch any of those Celtics teams in the early 00s? You didn’t.

What did Pierce do from 2002-2007? Play with awful teammates and still make the playoffs a couple times.

Dirk’s team were always talented. He’s always had quality players on his teams. The year they won he had Shawn Marion, Tyson Chandler, Kidd, Barrera and Terry. He’s always had names on his team unlike Pierce.

And Dirk not winning with Finley and Nash says more about him than about Pierce. I would’ve killed for Pierce to have had two of those caliber players on his team in his prime.
