Lyrical miracle is just putting big words that rhyme together in a bar with no context.

Lupe can’t be lyrical miracle with songs like daydreaming, kick push, the cool, deliver, the cool etc..

But my point is, who isn't "lyrical miracle"? When you break it down, no one is really saying anything...so, who actually is saying something in their songs? The list pretty miniscule.

That's why I said rap is pretty much "I'm better/more thorough/live/crazy than you" said a 100 different ways, line to line, song to song. And then you have your stories told. It shouldn't detract from the MC if they found a way to say it a different way by adding a couple of larger or more words...because in the end, they still are saying the same thing.

I get that, but even with the bold you still have cats lyrical miracle with it. Perfect examples are cats that reach with their bars past the point of :jbhmm: when they could have done a better job of tying the bar in, but either they purposely refused to or weren't skillful enough to do it. It should detract IF it sounds forced.

Some of Those URL type cats are guilty of that x 10, damn near unlistenable. A lot of that Def Jux shyt was lyrical miracle (i was a fan of Canibal Ox tho) too.

Lupe is not a lyrical miracle rapper unless we considering Jay one to to a lesser degree? Lupe is complexed and uses double entredres and metaphors but he can cruise too and make a track like Kick Push,

I don’t know bout nobody else but I would listen to Playboi Carti before Aesop Rock. Lol.

Don't know about either's music :yeshrug:

My point still stands. Hip-Hop is mainstream now, and mainstream caters to the lowest denominator, so I'm not surprised.

From 9:35 on Ransom explains EXACTLY what I've been trying to explain for years. nikkas try to redefine what lyrical is soooooo badly because they wanna prop up corny nikkas like Eminem and Lupe Fiasco. All that convoluted shyt ain't special and it definitely doesn't leave a long-lasting imprint or makes for good music. I knew nikkas on here were lost when they told me Biggie wasn't lyrical. What Biggie did was more special and he got lines that nikkas from all walks of life have been quoting and sampling for years. Saying less and leaving a nikka like  is a far greater talent than whatever the fukk Lupe be doing.

I agree with your sentiments exactly. EXCEPT that Eminem was NASTY in his prime. He makes corny shyt now and be all over the place but back in the day??? SHEEEIT.

Original Bad Boy on the case, cover your face
Came in the place blowed and sprayed Puffy with Mase
I laced the weed with insect repellent, better check to smell it
Eminem starts with E, better check the spelling
With a capital, somebody grab me a Snapple
I got an Aspirin capsule trapped in my Adam's apple
Somebody dropped me on my head and I'm for sure
That my mother did it but the bytch won't admit it was her
I slit her stomach open with a scalpel when she was six months
And said, "I'm ready now bytch, ain't you feelin' these kicks c*nt?"
The world ain't ready for me yet, I can tell
I'll probably have a cell next to the furnace in hell
I'm sicker than sperm cells with syphilis germs
And I'm hotter than my dikk is, when I piss and it burns
I kick you in the tummy until you sick to your stomach
And vomit so much blood that your clothes stick to you from it (yuck)
Hit you in the head with a brick 'til you plummet
If y'all don't like me, you can suck my dikk 'til you numb it
And all that gibberish you was spittin', you need to kill it
'Cause your style is like dyin' in my sleep, I don't feel it

A lot of rappers do it for sure. But Lupe 100% falls under it to me because he's extremely cryptic, overly layered and complex to the point where nikkas having full dissertations trying to break down what a couple of lines mean lol. That's super pretentious of him. lol. It's literally just an ego stroke. He doesn't do it to make the song better or to relay a message because if he was, he wouldn't make it so hidden and wordy.

My favorite battle rapper is Lux, he be doing that shyt too lol. But at least he's in a field where that's what it calls for.
To me being lyrical myrical is all the dudes that rhyme a bunch of shyt that sounds good but don’t be saying nothing.

The easiest breakdown to me is when thinking of the writing process. When I picture somebody writing if it seems they came up with some multi syllable shyt that sounds good and the bars around it are just to connect the Rhymes then that falls in the category of lyrical miracle.

But if it comes across like the rappers main goal is to paint a picture or get a message across through a verse and they think of complex ways to do that it’s not lyrical miracle.

Lupe is definitely overly complex at times but when breaking down his rhymes he’s pretty much always saying something. There is direction to what he writes and a connecting message in his bars.

A lyrical miracle dude will just have 200 bars about how dope of a rapper they are, fukking, gun bars but no theme to the verses.

This thread is basically people who don't listen to Lupe saying he's lyrical miracle vs people who listen to all of his projects saying he isn't.

Which group is more qualified to speak on the subject?

Kick, Push was a lyrical miracle song:mjlol:

Yeah he has some complex material but 90% of what he puts out isn't.

This is a fact!!! There’s no way they listen to dude

Drogas Wave literally had two songs were Lupe was just flat out rapping and flexing

literally every other song touched on a major subject and he did that with different flows, metaphors, and stories

Drogas light was literally a collection of pop songs lol nothing lyrical about that album

Tetsuo is literally a story of life, death, and resurrection lol EVERY song told a story. Forward and backwards and nothing about it is just a bunch of words thrown together. It’s literally one of the best written albums I’ve ever heard

People are really exposing themselves. Just say you don’t like Lupe and keep it moving

cause WAV files, Allen forever, Jonylah forever, are some of the best SONGS by a lyricist and I can’t even listen to two of them without getting emotional because of their tragic real life deaths

A lot of the coli is people talking loudly about things they know nothing about. From sports to music to politics...

Most of Lupe's album songs are about a specific topic then there's a lyrically complex song. We could start posting songs but they don't like him so they're not going to listen anyway so what's the point? Hell, ask them to post songs they think are lyrical miracle and they probably can't. Maybe they can pull out one or two but when an artist has a dozen projects what does that say?

He just bodied Royce being direct but he's a lyrical miracle rapper.

He has gold and platinum plaques and Grammies but he's a lyrical miracle rapper.

shyt don't add up. It's "I don't like him so let me insult him with a phrase that has negative connotations." It's all based on their perception and not reality.
